I started filming this video with Mikołaj at the begging of spring. He made long term plans of buliding new trails during the summer especially for this edit. Unfortunately, after the first few times we got together to shoot, he had a bad crash and broke his collarbone. That made him unable to ride or dig for over three months. Now that his recovery is getting closer to an end, he's started building new jumps and soon will be getting back up to strength on the bike. We've decided to split our project into episodes, this is the first one and it contains footage from spring.

The wages in Poland are much lower than wages in Canada.
Not all can afford bran new shiny bikes. I've got 2006 Iron Horse 7.3 and I love it Razz

Those frames are ugly but indestructible Wink And well, I could have studied&work full time to get new shiny bike, but to be honest I just preferred to have more free time to build trails and ride my old big hit... Wink

 what a shredder!

I hear yah miki. I still have mine that I have abused for several years now. The ugly thing wont die so I can warranty it!

Don't worry Sidor666 and miki-ck, not everyone in North America can afford shiny new bikes either. As the old saying goes, "run what ya brung".

Since when Specialized Big Hit is considered a low budget bike ??? Is it because it's 2006 model ? Does it ride slower or jump lower because it's not this year model ? I own 2006 Demo 8 and I am not going to buy new one until this one will break in to tiny pieces. Bike is supposed to work not "shine". If You care more and are more excited about it being shiny, new, colorful and trendy than actually riding it and it performance then maybe You should consider buying iphone 5 instead... might suit You better. I just can't understand this whole idea of urgent need for owning latest bikes, gear etc. basicly anything that don't actually improve much on tehcnical level and its greatest adventage is it being new....

@akozz I'm with you there but my opinions on a shiny bike is a bike that is loved and well taken care of, and I plan to use the same bike till it breaks too.

 @space97
True, bike don't have to be brand new to "shine".

I had an 04 big hit, i beat the hell out of it, and took good care of it. i like to by somewhat old bikes and just rebuild them with modern stuff on them. Like i have an 06 dhr but ive put new stuff on it. But it seems i cant really do this anymore cuz im unemployed lol and my gf spends most of my money lol.

Just shows... its not what you ride... Its how you ride it!

As long as its safe to ride, let'er buck. I ride an '06 VP free and have no plans to put out to pasture. The '05 Fox 40 though? If that thing were a horse I'd have to shoot it. It still works but replacing it is not in the budget. Great riding by the way. That bike was getting flogged and loving it.

So we all agree, no mater what you ride, just ride!

Awesome dude! Great edit, music fits well... everything perfect!
And the guy is shredding on a 06 Big Hit better than many people shred on their new 4000+ € bikes.

good example of how gear doesn't matter at all; this guy was pinned through the entire video. Also, gotta love damage inc. for being one of the few filmers that doesn't load up their edits with shitty/generic dubstep.

I love vidoes like this, especially at 0750 in the morning, no matter what happens at work, the start of the day was fun.

 good video.

the kid can ride, i'd rather know i have the talent over my bike than know that i cant ride my expensive bike for S#it!!

who cares what he's riding, lots of people with all the gear no idea, this guy rocks it.

WORD! I could not say it better! This dude is sending it despite on what he is on. Imagine him riding a newer bike... well I guess most of the folks would cry cause he would be even faster ... I also ride my oldie a V10 '05 so it is even closer to the holly bike graveyard than his bike and well isn't it the best fun to pass guys on their brand new bike wearing the TLD pyjamas, with your old abused rig in jeans and shirt... do it the Palmer way. Can't wait to see more coming form this guy!

Yet more proof that you don't really need to spend money on a new frame to rip. I'll keep my '08 Khyber Elite and '05 Shockwave 9.5. On top of all that, I still have a '05 Big Hit SPEC that I'm going to rebuild here pretty soon just to screw around on. I'm glad that Pinkbike posted this, though I'm sure some of the frame manufacturers would rather us believe we need something new.

I ride a 2006 bighit and I beat and bash every I go and it takes it and loves it one of the best bike I have ever owned or rode there a reason for the name bighit go Big hit hard
  • 1 0
Yeah, I didn't even notice what bike he was riding. I was thinking more about " how can I ride more like he rides?!"

Great video and an even better story about getting up after you fall down.

in my opinion bike should be comfortable for you and with good working condition but what year of the frame fork etc is not so necessary and off course well-groomed
