Sombrio is moving up in the world, rocking Interbike with this sweet rig by the pumptrack!

Some nice new colors from Pro-tec, including beautiful brown...

and Steve Peat, with possibly the best looking World's bike ever.

photo
ONE Industries has come a long way from moto accessories in 1997, bringing a full range of tech/casual apparel, protection, and helmets to Interbike.

photo
The Hooded Vanguard jacket. ONE have some nice casual clothes, and it sounds like there may be some super cool stuff coming.

photo
Gamma helmet from ONE - muchos vents, impact absorption inserts, lots of colour choices.

photo
The new Thomson Dropper Post, I haven't tried it yet, but if it's like everything else they make it should work very well.

photo
FRS made the move into energy shots this year. I haven't tried them yet, but I'm a huge fan of Quercetin, the main ingredient in their other drinks.

photo
photo
Urge Helmets has come out with a really nice new helmet that has some great features, and is made from something like 80% recycled materials. Go Green!

photo

photo
Nate Adams of Jett clothing in Colorado showed me some of their 2013 samples, I was impressed, they make some really great stuff, with lots of attention to detail, and there are a few improvements for 2013.

photo
Sean and D Riff, both looking very nice and sporting perfect hair!

photo
The North Face, with some really nice new colors for women.

photo
Thule has a range of travel bags now, perfect for weekend trips or just the daily grind.
photo
They've also made some improvements to our old favorite, the XTR T2. It now sports a solid cable lock, and improved latches that make everything slide that much more smoothly.

photo
The top of the line carbon 29er hardtail from Pivot. I'm not sure if I'd spend more than $6000 on a hardtail, but this one does come spec'd with SRAM XX1

photo
Syncros has a solid range of saddles that span the range from comfort to speed. The Carbon TR1.0 sits right in the middle of them, an almost perfect all around saddle.

photo
These girls really wanted to give me some stickers, but I just had to say no. Only so much you can do with random stickers...

I never use any stickers i get because its like "OH GOD I CAN ONLY USE THIS STICKER ON ONE THING BEFORE THE STICKINESS IS LOST FOREVER WHAT DO I PUT THIS ON!?!? OH NO f*ck LIKE OH MY GOD!" Stickers are just way too much responsibility for me...
  • 19 1
@hoolydooly: totally agree about stickers. There's way too much pressure involved, what with only having one shot at getting it in the perfect place... lol

Peaty's worlds bike looks better and better every time I see it.
  • 12 1
Thompson dropper post looks really nice... I'm probably among a major mintity, but I like the under the sadle lever personly. haven't ridden enough dfferent types of droppers, ut the Joplin' ever was not a favorite...

Oh and that Rudy bloke seems to e doin all-right aye. I feel like I wanna be a member of his project now Wink
  • 10 0
Im with you, I really dont need a bar mounted lever, and I hate the cable. This Thompson looks clean. I want one.
  • 8 2
 RFFR, give up dude
  • 1 1
My comments were deleted because PB now censors it's users comments. Say something like dirty looking girls and your comments get deleted, but bitch whine and harp about things like rim size... and your suddenly the trend whore king.
  • 2 0
You are lucky they don't just lock your account. You are being completely inappropriate. You are like belligerent man. What's going on with you? It's a website, they own it, and anything you post up here belongs to them. Freedom of speech does not apply.
  • 1 0
WHOA... I thought this was somehow related to my comment about the Thompson post aye hahahahahahaha, that had me scratching my head when I looked at my dashboard Wink

Per the post: yeah I'm with you Darkstar63 (love the name too, my band plays a cover of Dark Star), I like the lever cause it's simpler and I am used to it, but I haven't tred a ton of them either. I see the poential for there to "be a better way". Gravity dropper seems to be onto something, but the others seem to be better posts and have more range so Im kinda at odds. Until I find a remote actuator I "can't live without" then I live with the under the seat-lever as it doesn't hold me back one bit. Oh and I have a Hite-Rite sitting in my shop right now and anther on my dad's old Scwwinn Mirada (the first mass-produced mtn bike sold I think) Smile

@RFFR:
NOT getting into what happened or anything, but since you've brought this little escapade to my comment box: This is a privately run BIKE web-site, so yeah, I can see what you describe happening... Technically besides say an "off topic" forum they can take down any content that's not bike or "topic" related (and they program/pay for/moderate/etc. the site). YOU NOR I are "plus" members meaning we are here at the grace of whoever runs, and or funds, this site. We don't pay them... So yeah, you realy can't ever win this argument. You're "jousting with windmills" on this one and taking it to a "Site-Wide War" is a WEE bit over the top isn't it??? And for what it's worth, your post below decrying the moustache (look, I live in the epicenter f hipster culture...I GET IT, I do) however poorly expressed to the rest of the gang and in whatever poor taste it is to mock someone's sexual orientation due to dress code, is still there so they've let some of your better work stand to the vote of fellow PB members and the numbers don't look so hot for ya mate Wink

Is ghay? There was a day a mustache meant you were a man... not a pansy... and the greaser look on top of the frenchie stache... that is like mixing a hipster with richard simmons!

Plus, why does everyone with some sort of "weird facial hair" always have to give the look when a picture is taken of them, like someone just stuck a thumb up their butthole. LMAO. Ahhhhhooooooogaaaaaaaahhhhhhh is that expression. Matches the hipster status perfectly don'tcha think.

Hey rffr have you ever shotgunned a beer on hecklers rock duri...oh never mind you're probably a 13 year old keyboard warrior. Take your crap elsewhere.
  • 2 1
Hey rffr just give up already
  • 1 1
LOL PB now blakning out names. Censorship riding site of the year.

And 13 year old keyboard warrior... lmao. I don't drink beer, I drink clear liquor above 180 proof.

And shotgunning beer... you wouldn't last 5 min pounding out of a bottle of shine. Stay in school kid and stop trying to be the "cool kid" by saying things like 13 year old keyboard warrior.
  • 2 0
Yeah stay in school kid or you may end up an alcoholic like rffr and drink methanol to ease the pains of life
  • 1 0
Methanol, you mean "ethanol". Seems you... my friend are the one needing some further education, as they aren't remotely related in the alcohol world. Maybe a 5th grade class in science would benefit you... big burd (the one with the most epically stupid comments on FB to date... Want me to post some links of your goodness... your a true brain dead warrior in these necks of the woods). I'd be more than happy to. Then again, taking a look at your wall speaks for it's self.
  • 1 0
Btw... ": if you zoom in onto my crank arm you can see me and my dad taking the shot in the reflection just Smile " that's pretty hardcore. So you dad takes pictures of the bike you got for probably x mas. How cute. Also, nice use of capital letters in your comment, and the added smiley just to make it seem "cool" that your dad was taking pictures of the bike he bought you.
  • 1 0
lol dude you are so wrong Smile

My parents had no part in me purchasing that bike , I would never ask them to contribute and they would not anyway , they arent the spend lots of cash on the kids type.

Go back to trying to elevate your self above every one else with your pseudo intelligence on a cycling forum and drinking 'shine' you big hard man Smile
  • 1 0
Lmao. That last sentence was a little... "wrong" sounding theehee.

No harm no foul Big burd, it's a forum, everyone trolls a bit. =]
  • 10 0
Feel a little disappointed by Interbike this year, normally get a bit excited with all the shiny new bits; but it's all a little "meh".
  • 10 5
Judging by everyone else's comments I'll probably get alot of negatives for this, but I just dont understand all the love for Peatys worlds bike. I don't think it looks good at all.

That's not to say its not awesome though. As a crazy overdone gimmick for worlds it's one of the best I've ever seen. It's great. But just as a bike it's ugly. I mean if any of us saw someone roll up with that color scheme (excluding all the British stuff), most people would say it looked ridiculous.

I personally though Minnars bike looked awesome, for world and just as a bike.
  • 1 0
yeah i agree (let the neg props roll in...lol), but i'm not british, yet i do love Steve Peat. i also love santa cruz bikes even more.
  • 3 0
I still think Gwin's Darth Vadar bike is the sickest yet..
  • 7 0
i would say peatys worlds bike is one of the best looking bikes ever, not just worlds bikes but all bikes, one of anyway!
  • 9 2
6000 dollars? I can't see any diamonds on it.
  • 2 0
they give you a bag of diamonds with it for your breakfast cereal.
  • 1 1
..you guys don't understand apparently, your muscles turn into diamonds when you ride UP the hills...not just down
  • 1 0
 That's not baller.
  • 5 0
so were those photos taken by Ian Hylands?
  • 2 1
what about having a post like an umbrella slider style. put 2 or 3 holes in the down tube of the frame and put one of those metal push/release button's on the seat post. slide the post up/down till it clips in. just an idea that pop in my head for a sec. I don't know if a hole in the seat tube will compromise anything.
  • 1 0
You should go try that out on your own bike. We'll be here waiting for results. I'm especially interested to know how you're going to retro-fit a keyway to your frame and seatpost.
  • 3 0
 Make it a ccm expirement.
  • 2 0
Then maybe we can evolve that into a lever that allows a quick release of the seat tube to lower the post, just puttin it out there
  • 1 0
they have posts that work like that.
  • 1 0
That Jett Hornet short is looking really fine. Still $125? If they could cut the price by $30 by not including the removable liner, I would seriously consider placing one in the prime spot in my drawer of shorts. It might have more value with the liner, but the triple digit list price is a tough price to swallow. Always room for 1 more short in my drawer, if it's as high quality as the Jett shorts. I've replaced my crappier shorts with Royal Racing shorts, but they still aren't as fine as Jett designs, but they just happen to be at a price I'm more comfortable paying, esp on sale.
  • 1 0
Thanks for the kind words about our Jett shorts @Varaxis. We actually DID remove the liner for next year and are selling it at $100. The short also received a ton of refinements as well. I know the Hornet short will be my go to next year.
  • 1 0
What size chainring was on that pivot? It looks tiny, especially compared the to the xx1 granny ring. I thought it was meant to run a 38T that looks more like a 28T
  • 1 0
I'm thinkin that's going to be the way most people go with the XX1, though, 1 or two sizes down on the chainring, gets you closer to a true granny on the low gears, and the on the high side, the 9t rear keeps it in line with the bigger chainring on a standard 11-36 (or 11-32 if you're still on 9)
  • 1 0
from a gear ratio standpoint, it is hard to see the benefit of that system versus the $. go to Sheldonbrown.com and plug in the gears to see where they shake out.
  • 2 0
well, it makes sense to me, in that It gives me more gear ratios available without having to run front derailleurs, which suck. But rear derailleurs suck only slightly less, what I really want is a gearbox system.
  • 1 0
 agreed.
  • 2 0
It's actually only a 10t on the high side. So even less of a difference.
  • 1 0
huh, you're right. so maybe only a 1 size reduction in chainring size. Odd choice on their part, though I imagine space to cram bearings in was a big factor.
  • 1 0
Wasn't the hammerschmidt thing supposed to solve this problem... two chainring sizes with one actual ring using a planetary gear inside the spider ?
  • 1 0
hammershmidt i guess has a weird feeling in the overdrive setting, that people don't seem to like. I like not having a left shifter, as well.
  • 1 0
I'd tell those lady's i'll take a few of theirs& ill give them a few of mine,i could see it working out for everyone.tup .hey its vegas..LOL Facepalm

Just as I bought my 3rd Thule rack to finish off my car. They come out with a new better rack. Oh well I prefer using my own locks anyways. I am sure my Kryptonight chain is better then thule's cable anyways.
  • 3 2
I have one of those Krypto Chains and besides weighting a ton when you sling them around yourself, they're awesome.

How the chain does not falls of the front ring without a chain device on that XX1 Pivot?
  • 3 0
 powerglide chainring
  • 1 0
this brought a good point up to me about that new E13 TRSr cranks: If they have a chainring on it that is 11 speed, but no x-sync teeth, don't you have to run a chainguide, and if so, wouldn't it be lighter to just put the 4 bolt spider on and a SRAM x-sync chainring instead?
  • 1 0
Thanks for the info and the link, I have missed that article. Smile
