Cycles Devinci is pleased to announce the recent signing of new Canadian DH team, Primary/Daredevil. The team will have a complete national presence with high-profile riders in three provinces. The team will cover every Canada Cup, the Mont-St-Anne World Cup event next June, the US open, Psychosis, and various provincial races. As well as racing, Primary/Daredevil is highly focused on growing the sport of DH cycling in Canada. The team works hard to enhance the sport with race promoters, provincial sport organizations and industry partners. Founding member Chris Cousineau states, “We want this to be the most approachable and helpful team on the circuit. We are constantly trying to get more people hooked on DH, and are always eager to help out newcomers to the sport.”

Team management, based in Ontario, is led by long time downhillers Drew Pautler and Chris Cousineau. According to Drew, they are very optimistic about the upcoming season. The whole team is going to use the popular Devinci Wilson bike, known for its toughness and performance. “Devinci has not had a single warranty issue in the span of 4 seasons with the Wilson, so we’re excited to race what we think are the greatest bikes in the world.” states Drew.

Other team partners include Sram, Rock Shox, Avid, Wrex Racing, Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop and Want Beverages. More from the team can be found online at ridingfeelsgood.typepad.com.

In response to the fylgurlz comment I was under the impression that they were mostly a XC team not a DH team. What happened to Adrienne Millar. And regardless of Devinci starting up as an ontario team, it is a Canadian company it should thus broadly represent all province riders.

The Primary part of the team is the Ontario start up. Primary is now working with Devinci to build a new team that will represent more of the country. The Fly Gurlz are mostly XC, but in no way limited to just that. They run DH camps, and have gurlz racing in DH and 4X.

Where are the Female Riders?!!!!!!!! And how about more representation from BC we have far more diverse trails and riding outlets.

It's an ontario based team, it would make sence to have most riders from Ontario.

Devinci sponsors lots of female riders through the Fly Gurlz. I agree it would be cool to see some in Primary Blue, hopefully next year we will receive a few resumes from the ladies.

no not at all paunonen89. Its better to reach out a bit and look around than just stick local. Riding styles do vary greatly by location.

The team was started in 2002 by five riders in Ontario. This will be the second season with Quebec riders and the first with a BC rider. Slowly but surely the team will have more riders in more provinces.

Chris, will Geoff, Mathue, and Dominick be signing on with this 'new' Devinci team you speak of?

I think mathieu and devinci had a falling out. Primary was in contact with Geoff and Dom, but couldn't offer what is nessecary to keep riders of that caliber.

Focus right now is racing, growing the sport, and building brands for team partners. So our hands are kind of full, maybe in the future there will be Primary Freeriders.

Devinci is screwed without Dominick, Mathieu and Geoff.

I dissagree. Devinci makes a great bike and they will continue to have great representation here in Canada, just not by the means as they have in the past. Keep your eyes peeled for more exciting news from the Devinci camp in the weeks to come.
