Diablo Freeride Park Announces 2007 Improvements

Vernon, New Jersey, May 7, 2007 – Home of the U.S. Open of Mountain Biking, Diablo Freeride Park returns in 2007 with a revamped trail network, new terrain features and a stocked event calendar featuring competitive events with huge cash and prize offerings. Diablo reborn…For the past five weeks, Diablo Freeride Park has revamped the entire Diablo trail network just in time for the season opener on May 12th. Since April 1st, the Diablo Crew has invested over 2,000 man-hours and an additional 350 machine hours to refurbish and improve Diablo Freeride Park’s forty trails. Trail favorites such as ‘Dominion’, ‘Alpine’, ‘Bushwack’, ‘Breakout’ and ‘Domboo’, among others, have been extensively reshaped and improved.

New for 2007... A new machine-built trail titled ‘Tempest’ has been added to the Diablo North Peak area further positioning Diablo as the leading bike park in America. The new ‘Tempest’ line offers a series of groomed table-tops, rollers, step-downs and the new ‘Anthem Drop’.


Leading events…In 2007, Diablo Freeride Park is proud to host the coveted U.S. Open of Mountain Biking, the five-event Diablo Domination Series and other grass roots events throughout the course of the six-month season. ROUND 1 of the Domination Series is scheduled for May 20th and the U.S. Open of Mountain Biking returns to Diablo on the Memorial Day holiday weekend.

Prestige, honor, bragging rights…May 25-27, 2007, gravity racers from across the globe will make the pilgrimage to Diablo Freeride Park to compete in the most prominent downhill event in America. The 2007 U.S. Open of Mountain Biking offers a $20,000 cash purse, a world-class downhill course and a festival party-like atmosphere. Exhibitors such as Toyota, SRAM/RockShox, Iron Horse, ethirteen Components, Kenda Tires, Shimano, Larabar Energy Bar, RedBull, NYC Freeride and Rocky Mountain, among many others will be onsite at the 2007 U.S. Open.
