Diamondback Bikes Adds Carson Storch to DF5 team

by Diamondback Bicycles
Heading into the 2013 season, Diamondback Bicycles grew its Development Force 5 team this month by adding Freeride specialist Carson Storch to its pro-level roster. Storch joins returning DF5 athletes Kelly McGarry, Eric Porter, Billy Lewis, Kyle Thomas, Charlie Sponsel and Simon Lawton for the 2013 season.

Storch, 19, rode last year for Diamondback as a DB Flow rider, Diamondback’s amateur team, and chalked up some impressive results. He placed fourth at the UDUG (Upside Down, Underground) Invitations, second at the Teva Mountain Games in the Best Trick competition, and seventh at the Union Jumpship Competition.

Born and raised in Bend, Ore., Storch started out racing motocross and snowboarding, skills that naturally transitioned to mountain biking, and which heavily influenced his style. Growing up in Bend gave Storch the opportunity to mentor with riding legends like Jamie Goldman and Kirt Voreis, who helped shape his smooth riding style. Storch mainly competes in slopestyle and dirt-jump competitions, but also loves riding downhill, pumptracks and cross-country.

Look for Storch representing Diamondback on the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour this summer.

That's a huge accomplishment at only 19 years of age. Congrats, Carson. If only I could have grown up in a place like Bend, OR instead of TX.. life would be so much different I'm sure.
