I took a few minutes at Jump Ship this year to take the riders aside and get a shot of them with their 2011 hardtails. I missed a few for sure, but these are most of the guys that were around during early practice...
Brandon Semenuk with his new Trek Ticket. Brandon won the event on this bike and not much seems to have changed from last year except for the color and the addition of a super custom GoPro mount.
Mike Montgomery won Best Trick and this is his current Banshee set up. He's running the
proto hydraulic gyro that he's been working on with Straitline, as well as the Manitou Circus.
Mike's new hydraulic gyro
Anthony Messere with the new
Morpheus hardtail he's riding this year. Anthony doesn't have a hydraulic gyro, check out the length of his brake line. Mitch Chubey is running the new Morpheus as well.
Casey Groves with his Transition Trail-or-Park
Geoff Gulevich with his 2011 Rocky Mountain Flow. The thing that stands out most on this bike is Geoff's chain
Gully's super pimp chain, usually seen on track and other fixed gear bikes. Supposedly these things are tough if a little bit heavy
Tyler McCaul with his GT
Ryan Meyer with his Corsair
Event organizer Jordie Lunn with his Chromag
Reece Wallace also rocking the Chromag Monk
and Mark Matthews as well. Chromag Monk #3
Jarrett Moore with his Rocky Mountain Flow
and Scott 'Wink' Grant with his. That makes 3 including Gullie's...
Luke Fulton was riding a Cove Foreplay
Jamie Goldman, Santa Cruz Jackal
One other interesting observation; 11 out of 14 of these riders are running Chromag saddles. Coincidence, or are they just what all cool dirt jumpers need to have in order to do well?
