Fast Line Racing Report: ESC #6 Plattekill, NY

This past race weekend was Eastern States Cup #6 and the East Coast shootout at Plattekill Mountain, NY. There were 3 races to attend if you desired, enduro, Super D , and downhill. The best 3 results got an overall prize, amateurs and professionals all competed for race points based on their finishes in the class they raced in, giving everyone a fair shot at the overall.
This weekend, Jason Scheiding, Leland O;Connor, and Alex Makarski were in attendance for the race.
Jason Scheiding raced all 3 events, Leland and Alex raced the DH only.

Jason had a great time racing the Enduro, and got 2nd place out of 18 competitors, and was only 1 second off the win over 5 timed stages, and took the win on stage 5.

Enduro race results, order is, overall time, stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, stage 5, and the timed climb stage.
Pro ENDURO Podium, Jason 2nd
Jason got 5th in the Super D race, despite some course taping confusion that caused the whole group to take a wrong turn, they ended up running back uphill for the correct trail, putting a lot of riders in the back of the pack that were up front. Despite the problem, Jason was able to salvage 5th by sprinting past someone on the climb.

Leland got a 2nd place Pro finish in the Downhill, he was looking great on course all weekend, and was feeling it. Jason got 5th Pro in the Downhill with a solid race run, and Alex got 1st in Cat 1 with an impressive time that would have put him 9th in Pro.

Jason Scheiding ended up getting 2nd in the 3 race overall, only missing the win by 10 racing points. What a great racing weekend, 3 podiums , cant ask for much better then that!

This past weekend marked one the most fun race weekends in current memory, Enduro racing is about the most fun you can have racing your bike, anyone who has not tried it yet, needs to go to at least one. After that I guarantee you will be hooked on the racing format.
