Fox Racing Truck Found and Retrieved

Fox Truck and trailer.

After the Fox Racing truck was stolen Tuesday outside of Quebec while the crew were there for the World Cup, we put up a story announcing the theft and received a call from a Pinkbike user yesterday to inform us they had seen the truck while driving by it in Montreal and called it into police. Soon after, the police were on the scene and towed it back. The truck was just released back into Fox Racing's hands and they are grateful. "We debated even passing the word around at first but this shows it was worth it and the power of forums and communication. Super stoked! " says Mark Fitzsimmons from Fox Racing.

All is not well though as Mark tells Pinkbike, "The thieves cut a hole in the side wall, came inside, cut out the back door locks and removed everything bike and suspension related. They knew what they were after as they even took our shim tuning kits and left other valuables around them. They weren’t able to get into our tools as we had a second lock on those." The thieves have not been found so all those Fox Racing goods are still out there, so keep on the look out!

Great to see the biking community come together like this. And Fox Racing wanted to give a big shout out to all the race teams who lent them tools so they could continue getting things dialed in at the World Cup.

I have fear.. that your gay!
  • 31 5
If you're scared of gay people you are simply a bigot and have issues.
  • 3 1
 LOOOOOL^
  • 4 3
or were the subject of a bad experiance at the hands of a gay. my flatmate got his shirt ripped off and surrounded by about 12 large 40 year olds in a gay club we were at for a gay froinds birthday. we were there half an hour and, now unsuprisingly he's rather scared of gay people.

Thats super lame that someone stole their stuff! Like how could a BIG ass trailer get lost first of all haha!! Oh well at least they have it back, hopefully they catch the loosers who stole the stuff
  • 1 0
Oh I only meant it I as a joke. Sorry bout that.
  • 2 0
Back on topic please? I've seen enough arguments about sexuality here on Pinkbike! I'm glad you got the trailer back, but sucks about the parts and suspension. They probably won't be returned.
  • 1 0
yayyyyyyy they found it, i wonder who stole it?
btw i think everyone should go on the buy/sell area and look for sets of cheap fox suspensions
and if prototype inverted forks pop up, youll know what happened
the person who gave the tip should get rewarded
  • 2 0
hopefully find some bargains on ebay noww!
  • 2 0
lol if it was prototypes they probs dint steal them to sell cheap... emm they probs sold the of to some fork brand like manitou...
  • 3 0
wait why do they have the same picture as the first article? there should be a hole in the side wall, no locks on the back doors, and the suspension shouldn't be sagging as much since they took stuff
  • 35 1
 Death to bike thieves.
  • 29 1
Death seems a little harsh... maybe removing their thumbs? At least then it'll be almost impossible to steal gear and it'll just look hilarious watching them try.
  • 6 0
No I do think death to bike theives.

Does any one know what exactly what was stolen? Just so people know exactly what they should be looking for?
  • 1 0
well its top of the line forks prototype forks so selling or getting rid of those forks are going to be hard just do to there forks no one has really seen and when people see some one selling them i think they are going to report them, and i dont think they will be selling them on Pinkbike
  • 1 0
Ahh was it some of those Upside down 40's Gee was Riding with in the Pietermaritzburg WC?

  • 5 0
Bunch of idiots but I guess you could say they had good taste haha
  • 36 2
 mccaul always finishes the job
  • 1 0
well as soon as they go to pawn the gear they will get found out. especially since allot of the stuff is prototypes. hopefully all goes well
  • 8 0
There probly reading this right at this moment
  • 1 0
Or your gonna see them at the next local race...
  • 18 1
um, they did get away with it.. they stole the truck, stole what they wanted inside of it and then dumped it, seems to me theyre pretty clever rather then idiots

so you think because they stole the truck and got away with it [ really ? we'll see ] they are not idiots, but clever - well one thing is for certain, you ARE an idiot - nice to see you look up to these scum and label them with anything other than: idiotslimeballretardshitfor brainsthieves...and while your at it, why not hook up with them and give them a big wet asskiss, fart mouth...

  • 3 2
Rock shox guy I know they had something to do with it
  • 15 0
jcinkits, I'm sure Stryke wasn't implying that the crime was ok to commit by saying the criminals were clever...it wasn't a morality judgement he made....just an observation about the crime itself... I'm sure he hopes they get caught and punished just like everyone else on here...
  • 5 1
jcinkits sorry for the plus prop ment to give you negative, dumbass. He never said he looked up to them, he just stated the fact that they're obviously clever and organised enough to steal all of this stuff. They are assholes indeed, but clever assholes.
  • 3 0
seems like they planned this out, an because of the stuff taken..... dare i say it........ they were probably bikers

Ridingwhatican : your supportive comment about what stryke said is based on your opinion, not the facts : read it again; he said they are clever RATHER than idiots - having had one of my rides stolen and two other attempts, i have strong feelings about bike thieves so i am one 'dumbass' who could care less about your neg prop - and ANY bike thief no matter how he gets away with his slimeball crime is not clever, he is what he is, ONLY an idiot thief, and anyone who gives him ANY suggested positive prop [ clever ] needs to rethink his comment [ in my opinion ]...
  • 1 3
mtb1stdegree : your implication is clever - hope you never get your ride stolen and you may understand why i do not find ANY humour in your neg suggestion that i am clever [ clever is the closest you can get to dishonest in this blogs context ] ....meantime, enjoy your ride while you can and i sincerely hope no one ever proves my point by ripping you off.
  • 5 0
stryke : i never back pedal on my comments but i feel i owe you a [ public - since i dissed you publicly ] sincere apology ; my comments [ while the core of my feeling about these slimeball thieves in my comments to you holds firm ] toward you were misplaced and way over the top...yes, i disagree with you about the thieves being clever, but everyone has the right to voice a comment without the excessive reaction i gave you; better a response without adjectives that expose my own shortcomings. sorry. my bad. jc.
  • 2 0
Haha funny you say that, my bmx got jacked a few weeks ago, so i went out and bought another, and the day i got my new one(last tuesday) i got my old one back.
  • 2 0
glad to hear that; the ride i got ripped for was recovered three months later [ a small miracle ] and it took three more months for me to stop lookin at every riders bike i passed :-) ...Ottawa is my ol stompin grounds - used to be a trail that ended at Pinks lake called 'bio-pace' trail, named after the eliptical shaped crank that Rocky Mountain Bikes was using at that time...the entrance to this trail was so steep that this crank actually worked to make the climb accessible...
  • 24 1
i guess they should've equipped the trailer with a better LOCKOUT system....
  • 1 0

^^THATS what clever is... stealing what you want just implies homework was done on their behalf... but corny father-style humour of this calibre is where its at when it comes to clever-ness. Sorta like how the scarecrow won a Nobel Prize because he was out standing in his field...

All these people saying RockShox did it, RockShox is waaay too classy to do something like this. Same with Magura/Manitou/X-Fusion/White Bros. Now Marzzochi, there's some shifty lookin' b*astards... Wink

Marzocchi didnt do it, marzocchi all ready makes amazing stuff it was rockshox trying to steal there xc fork ideas
  • 1 0
Lol, samtheman, joking aside, I've had a set of revelation dual air uturn '08's since the month they came out on the front of my bike, and they've outlasted 3 sets of fox's on a mates bike. Not once been pro-serviced, just the little simple bits by me and I swear they're still running smoother than all but the newest kashima'd fox's
  • 1 0
it could just be your friends doging there fox's and you not riding your bike i mean i have an 08 marzocchi and i have beaten it up and it still runs amazing but im upgrading to the 44 and my friend has a rockshox and it broke within 6 months of him owning it
  • 1 0
nope, he's had them serviced to the official fox requirements, and I go out 3 times a week for 10-15 miles of which 75% at least is off road, and I'm 15 stone and don't ride gently! For UK conditions fox's ain't nowt great, the seals are awful Razz they really do show themselves as 'dust' seals, not mud seals Big Grin
  • 1 0
maybe your friend should switch over to Marzocchi cause i have beaten up my marzocchi so bad that i need a new frame but my marzocchi still runs smooth
  • 1 0
yeah, or rockshox, haha, fox just need to up their game for the UK IMO Smile

For all the guys that says that people from Quebec are french stop that !!! they just speak the same kind of language as us it's like telling a canadian is english because you both are speaking the same language! Anyway good news to see that massive stuff found
  • 1 0
lol ya numbskulls and that's not to say there aren't just as many anglophones as there are francophones in Quebec, and having lived there and traved France I can tell the two languages have differences, there's France french and then there's Quebec French Razz
  • 1 0
it would be perfectly logical to call a Canadian "English"
  • 2 0
 I'm Norwegian
  • 11 1
Sucks all the stuff is gone. Be on the lookout for some 40 year old fat @$$ at your local mountain with an inverted fox 40! Haha
  • 5 0
fox should hold the launch of the new inverted fox 40 so if someone comes up with one before the launch they will kno who it is
  • 1 0
I don't think it was ever going to "officially" launch. When they announced it at the US Open they said that it wouldn't be launched for a while, if it was to be launced at all. It may just be availibe to the WC pros... But hey, who knows...
  • 3 0
It will come some day, just like the shiver, I know for a fact that the shiver WILL be brought back.
  • 2 0
lol some old guys rolls up to the fox tent saying he needs some tune ups on his fox inverted and then he will notice they haven't released it yet

  • 7 0
That's good to know! I hope you guys hunt those thieves down and charge them for their crimes. I hope they get what they deserve..justice!
  • 9 3
If you send those bastards here, we would probably wind up giving them the death penalty. Now that's good old American justice...
  • 2 3
Like the stupid riots in BC, it just took the French longer to realize we weren't doing it anymore and that it was fully retarded
  • 6 0
 Took shim tuning units eh?

Looks like they knew what they were looking for, and exactly where to find it... AND the layout of the truck if they were able to cut a hole in the side to get in.

Dodgy.
  • 1 1
you don't have to know the layout of the floor in order to cut through the wall with a reciprocating saw...
  • 3 0
Unless you cut part of the wall with the huge tool cabinets against it.

 Full on industrial espionage

  • 6 0
did they take the inverted prototype??
  • 2 0
WOW those crim's took a huge risk to steal that truck, besides how would they know what was ACTUALLY in it... alot of risk and to not be caught so far is amazing seeing that truck isnt exactly low key. Lets hope someone has some info on where all that gears gone!
  • 2 0
Hope Fox racing is able to move forward and get things back on track. Prop's to all the teams that helped out with tools & stuff. It is a close knit family we have in the mtn bike community.
  • 1 0
As a Canadian to those guys who did this...you just made us look like douches to everyone else in the world. The same sort of stuff happened at Crankworks 5 or 6 years ago where someone cut into the Ironhorse/Monster(I think)trailer late at night and last season to Norco. We can't blame it on the Frenchies because it seems to happen on both ends of the country.
  • 4 0
Great news! Way to be on the lookout everyone!
  • 4 1
Watch Rock Shox come out with an inverted DH fork almost identical to the Fox fork
  • 2 1
i was looking forward to reading that they found the truck and trailer with the thieves driving, and all the prototype equipment is fine.... but i guess not ):

But im still glad they were able to find it!

  • 8 1
if you read what webbrider had written, you might have realised that is what he was saying

Probably goina find some killer deals on used fox stuff on bike buy'n'sells/craigslists around north america pretty soon. Up to everyone to decide if its worth the risk of possibly supporting thieves.

  • 2 0
oh i got more than a pedal wrench waiting. I gotta man size chain whip
  • 2 0
ooOO now we're talkin! Seriously though, you gotta be pretty low class to steal the fox truck and trailer, I mean I want some fox gear just as much as the next rider, but I would never go to such lengths as to rob them, that's just....well, low class.
  • 2 0
well put my fellow man. salute.
  • 2 1
so the cops got the truck back but what did they do to the driver? was he the one that stole it all?
  • 2 0
theres nothing saying it was being driven at the time it was found. My guess is it was found in a back alley or parking lot.
