Source: Fox Racing ShoxFOX Racing Shox is proud to announce their World Championship Limited Edition 40 RC2 Fork and DHX RC4 Rear Shock will be made available for sale in a run of just 200 individually numbered units. In June, 2008 at Val di Sole, Italy history was made when sister and brother Rachel and Gee Atherton of team Animal-Commencal rode to dual victories in the World Championship Downhill race riding FOX’s 40 RC2 and DHX RC4.The 40 RC2 limited edition has the same damping that was tested, tuned and won on throughout the season. Its performance characteristics are designed specifically to be pushed at the highest level of competition and comes stock with a stiffer Titanium spring than the 2009 production model. Race Manager Mark Fitzsimmons tested with FOX’s top Downhillers throughout the season to tune both the fork and shock for ultimate, winning performance. “The harder these products are ridden, the more rewarding the ride becomes,” stated Fitzsimmons.
The DHX RC4 is a new from-the-ground-up, purpose built downhill shock specifically engineered to meet the demands of the world’s most brutal downhill courses and the athletes that dominate them. External adjustments for velocity sensitive damping and position sensitive ending stroke control act independently of one another allowing the rider to dial in the perfect balance of small bump compliance/traction, dynamic control, and big hit absorption. The World Champion version has been tuned and tweaked throughout the season to perform at the highest World Cup level of competition to give the aggressive rider the extra edge for winning performance.
“These Limited Edition products are the culmination of hundreds of hours of testing and working with our Engineers, Race Support Team and Athletes. Our Race program is not just a Marketing effort, we work year round with the World’s best athletes to develop and improve our products so that we can win World Championships and ultimately deliver products to the end consumer that are best in class,” said Mario Galasso VP of FOX’s Bike division.
The Limited Edition World Champion 40 RC2 and DHX RC4 will be available mid December. Lucky owners will find trading cards with Rachel and Gee’s photos and statistics in the package as well as videos of their winning runs on the Limited Edition owner’s manual CD. Along with the Limited Edition product decals there are also tuning decals on the product to keep track of the owner’s preferred settings. Inquire at your favorite dealer for availability and price.

But in fairness we can customise our own forks to our style and taste.
Like they do this for atherton.. but we customise for ourselves
It's called "creativity" ...right?
ha here come the negative props...
because the fork and shock are probably gonna cost that much anyway.
In my opinion, this is a marketing FAIL. Trading cards?! WTF were they thinking.
1. Some people prefer 40's to Boxxers and vice versa. No one cares what you personally think.
2. These are NOT just 40's with a paint job - do some research!
3. Yes they cost more - if you don't like what they charge, design your own bloody fork or go out riding (instead of going on the internet) and get sponsored!
for real. they don't even have a real "seal" just dust wipers. great if you've got a team mechanic. or maybe not even. because cam mcauls 40's at crankworx were pissing oil everywhere.
BTW the Vivid has Hi/Lo rebound and one compression. The DHX RC4 and Elka have Hi/Lo compression and one rebound so they aren't comparable really....
if you call someone an idiot for not using spellcheck, you should at least know the difference between your and you're. who's the real idiot? too bad spellcheck doesn't pick up $hi++y grammar.
if you want to call someone out because they can't spell, learn to do so yourself first.
Different compression tune - harder than std. This is very differnt to a stock 40.
And how can you complain about the price when you don't know what they cost!?!
Does average Joe usually spend over £1000 on a set of forks? NO. Therefore is average Joe the target market for these forks? NO.
Whats your point?
Dear god does everything need to be spelled out to you kids, and does anyone's opinion immediately need to be disputed so fiercely?
I would have thought it obvious that as these are limited edition forks with only 200 being made, they are NOT aimed at Average Joe downhiller/biker. Thats kind of the point... They are a modified version of the standard 40 aimed at faster racers.
Does everything need to be spelled out to you, kid?
Great - I made one spelling mistake - whoop dee doo.
1. My spelling and grammar is better than 99.9% of these forum's users
2. I would like to see you try and be as good at a SECOND LANGUAGE as I
I had enough of this conversation - have a great life
If you have a disposable income large enough to consider blowing over £1200 on a set of forks you are NOT Joe Average.
You said "RIP OFF, anyone who buys this is a mug" this is your opinion, fair enough. However that imply's that these forks are not worth the extra wonga over a set of normal 40's. I disagree with you as they are limited edition forks that are sprung and damped more agressively for the faster racers out there.
You can't just write glib, uninformed statements and not expect to get attacked for it! If you do not wish to be disabused of your opinion, keep it in your head next time!!!
and yea i gotta agree with freerideguy14, lots of ppl on here dont know a thing and think kona and norcos are the shit
