Sunday's format rewarded the rider that is both fast and stays out of trouble. Each run is scored, combined run scores decided the overall winner of the 2013 Inca Avalanche trophy.

Yannic Wende (Gravity Global -Tigo), the 2012 champion was on his way to sweeping the weekend, winning the qualifier and the first run of Sunday's main, a flat on run two saw Kike Genova (Oxford Chile) take the win, the points advantage and the overall title. Alejando Paz (Santa Cruz - 4X - Ciclon) slotted into 2nd with Aaron Chase (Cannondale - Red Bull) putting together two great runs taking the 3rd step on the podium, Trevor Martin (Guide Pro) and Eric Porter (Diamondback - Kenda) rounded out the top five.

Florencia Espineira (Oxford Chile) swept the weekend of racing leaving Daniela Rojas (Oxford Chile) and Sienna Jensen (Guide Pro) to pick up the scraps. Katie Holden (Giant - SRAM) had qualified 2nd on Saturday, but a mishap on Sunday put her derailleur into her spokes, leaving her out of contention.

Racers were challenged by bog, steeps, rocky and exposed terrain all along the 5000ft descent. There was again spitting rain for run one and slight hail greeted the riders for the final run. At the finish line racers were treated to sandwiches, beverages and of course Cusquena cerveza to celebrate surviving. Check out this video from the race start:
