From July 21st to 24th, the Go Big or Go Home is once again coming to the BIKE EXPO in Munich. After a week of building in the new Action Spots Hall at the BIKE EXPO grounds, the course for the dirt jump event is finally finished. The riders drop in from a spectacular, 8 meter high starting tower, that catapults them into an extremely fast course with three jumps.

The course for the dirt jump contest is already finished in the brand new Action Sports Hall and is waiting for riders to hit it with their best tricks. This year, riders will be starting from an 8-meter starting tower and are dropping into the course from a height of 5 meters. The three jumps on this extremely fast course have gaps of 8, 6 and 4 meters. The short but sweet course planned by course designer Markus Hampl leaves a lot of options or the riders and spectators can look forward to spectacular tricks and creative riding: “The riders gather a lot of speed for the jumps which will definitely show in the enormous height of the tricks. I’m pretty sure we’ll get to see a very compact show that’s definitely worth watching”, Hampl comments on his course.

Now nothing stands in the way of a truly great event – not even the weather. For the first time, the dirt jump contest of the BIKE EXPO is moved into the Action Sports Hall (Hall B6, Neue Messe München) and thus completely independent from any possible tricks the weather might play.
Saturday after the qualifiers (3pm – 5pm), we will find out which one of the riders needs to go home. Which rider will really go big in Munich will become apparent on Sunday at the finals starting at 2.30pm with the prize ceremony righ afterwards.

Of the overall 40 riders of the pre-qualifying who will battle it out on Friday, only 10 will have the honour to meet these invited dirt jump pros in the qualifiers on Saturday:

The riders are competing for a total of 10,000 Euro that will be split among the winners of the final. For anyone whose heart beats for spectacular bike action, the Rollei Best Trick Contest on Saturday after 7pm with a prize money of 1,000 Euro for the most impressive move will certainly be a highlight. French talent and number four in the overall FMB World Tour Ranking Mehdi Gani will unfortunately not be able to show his talent in Munich, as he is out with a knee injury. Fellow countryman and upcoming talent Thomas Biblioni is taking his place. Tomas Zejda (CZE) and Phil Sundbaum (USA) will also not be able to attend, allowing Bienvenido Alba (ESP) and Teo Gustavsson to move up into the set rider’s list.
