Today marks the one-year anniversary of my bike commuting in Calgary photo project, The Daily Ride. This means that over the last year, I rode my bike to work 170 times, or a rough estimate of 1,700 kilometers.
And what a ride it has been! Brutal cold, rain, and heat.... a crash that destroyed my helmet bruised my hip.... beautiful sunrises and sunsets... dodging cars... detouring around parked trains... trying not to hit feral rabbits...I have yet to decide if I will continue shooting photos on a daily basis, and may scale the photo project back to just shooting when I feel suitably inspired, but I would like to thank everyone who has followed the project, provided comments and words of support on the blog and elsewhere. Plans are in the works to do something with the photos, perhaps an exhibition that is tied to raising awareness of bike commuting in Calgary, and I will keep everyone posted as they progress.
Thanks again and keep on riding!
