Precision... Mr Starter gets to push the buttons.

Getting dressed for the dance--Grubby Graves getting pinned up.

Graves launched the rock line double to seal the deal for top pole position and gate choice with a blistering 37.735 seconds to edge out Michal Prokop.

photo
Thomas Slavik opted not to take the rock line double and instead snaked his way through the edge of the rock garden.

A solid Melissa Buhl qualified first. Must be that high elevation training in Mile High City.

Anneke Beerteen, wide open throttle on the first straight.

Swiss timing means only one thing.

Guido Tschugg won the first WC 4X racer way back when.

Even with a bum ankle and a bruised heel from yesterday's practice, Roger Rinderknecht still managed to come home in the top 20 riders during qualifying.

The top five qualifiers were within a second of each other; alas Scott Beaumont finished at +2 and change, but he made the cut so he'll be banging bars tomorrow.

Brule, are you teasing us with no vids or what?
  • 14 0
Folks aren't doing as many vids at the WC rounds due to the costs being charged - upwards of $250 per minute of edited coverage. We have two great photographers on hand at all the rounds and you'll see edits from teams post event from film crews such as MTB Cut, DH Productions and the like.

that's ridiculous, it's not like the events lose money from edits of practice

Seriously, that' a ridiculous cost, thanks for the insight brule! Salute

hmmm. there must be a massive grey area between ammeter phone cam footage, semi ammeter photographer footage, semi professional photographer footage... the transition is pretty smooth, how do they enforce it?

Another thing you have to realize is that the qualies just ended, so unless the footage is live (these pics are even from yesterday), then no one can edit that fast. Your thirst for Free, Now and Perfect are things that have to be curbed and set at realistic levels as it's impossible to provide it all, all the time. I'm pumped that we've got results now and have guys like Fraser and Colin on the ground that will have more banger shots to drool over later on today.

Interesting results Smile Prokop is sooo close to Graves, De Lara looks if he has a good comeback, Saladini's back in the top, Slavik only fifth, Mechura below top ten... but hey, these are mainly fractions of a second of differences - gonna be a great race tommorow!

you guys sayin that freecaster has some kind of media monopoly on the race? how does someone have the rights to charge $250 per minute for edited coverage?
  • 1 0
They show the races live and then post a full replay of the webcast.
