Lets not be shy shall we, you gotta go big.

How hard was the Llangollen National Champs track? 42 riders went home between sign on, walking the course and a Saturday night. How hard was it? Well we put in rope access at the top for the spectators to help pull themselves up the course. The CRC team will be back there for some pre-race Champery World Cup training.
Adam Brayton ruled seeding and everyone thought the big battle was between him and local hero Alex Bond. In the end Peaty crashed out on the steepest hardest section of the course, the log drop at marshal point 3. Catching his back tyre on a root and getting tangled in the crash netting loosing him some five plus seconds. Ruaridh Cunningham took the big win and his first ever National Championships title infront of a 3,000 strong crowd.

I think Buchanan's time is meant to be 2:17 not 1:17?? unless he was insanely pinned Razz
  • 1 0
 ya definite typo
  • 1 0
 he haz wings
  • 2 0
and I am pretty sure its 2.14 not 2.17
  • 1 0
it was 2.14 for sure ! Really pisses me off how bad video's make tracks look - this place is steep as hell and yet looks nothing like it, where else do the spectators have to use rope to get to the top other than Llangollen? Another bloody good event, the BDS team have really stepped it up this year

 Alwinton?

I WISH THE STATES WOULD EMBRACE DOWNHILL RACING LIKE THE UK. props to Europe for keeping the scene thriving
  • 4 0
Sickest track around in the UK in my opinion , tight, steep , loose up top and flat out and jumpy out at the bottom . Perfect track ?
  • 3 0
Does any one agree they need to host a world cup on this track
  • 2 0
 YES that would be epic!
  • 1 0
Nope because the uplift struggles as it is!!
  • 3 0
Yep, I did 4 runs in 7 hours, grabbing drink/food btw finish and uplift queue, it really is shocking the uplift there. Someone in the queue had us all laughing when he said he was going to get some serious practice in for the next race at Llangollen by buying an old transit mini bus and sitting in it for 2 hours at a time, 5 times a day!!!!!
  • 1 1
a world cup would have less riders to get up and down the hill. theres ways round the uplift problems, they just need vehicles capable of going down the green lane.
  • 1 0
are you serious? have you ever seen a world cup?
  • 2 0
well consedering i've been at every round this year i'd say i've seen a few... the maority of the world cups so far this year have had less that 200 people race. compared to 300 at a BDS do the math.

Holy shit, Phill Atwill would have placed 3rd in Juniors! He's going to be killing it in the world cups!!!

  • 3 2
It's a fact. You can't disagree with it.
  • 10 0
''He's going to be killing it in the world cups!!!'' is a prediction, not a fact.

Such a great weekend! Pictures and videos really don't give an impression on how steep this thing was, there were ropes to help people climb up and absail down.
  • 1 0
Apologies for the mis-type, just rectified it now. Just drop me an- e-mail when I mess up again and i'll change it ASAP! si@descent-gear.com
