Our video team followed Bluegrass Factory Development Team member Hannah Barnes during her pre-Megavalanche week. Hannah brings enthusiasm, commitment and a positive attitude to each practice, event or competition she takes part in. Bringing her own dose of “magic” to the world’s most prestigious MTB marathon race. So inspiring. Enjoy!
gotta love the moaning. may not be the prettiest thing in the world i'll admit, but you can keep your over engineered linkage rubbish, give me a single pivot and decent shock any day. Oranges actually feel alive and fun unlike pretty much every linkage bike ive ridden that just feels lifeless. Old morewoods and the singlepivot SCs are the same but the folded tubes on the orange i think make it it look a lot cleaner.
You have to admit it's a love or hate look.... nobody said they don't ride well, but they look dated. I LOVE them, but im also 30 and lusted after bikes that looked like this when it was cutting edge. I like the simplicity and the shape of the tubes, always been a fan. I also really like British cars and motorcycles and this bike looks, well, British.
I owned that style suspension on my Haro EX2 and MX3 in the mid/late 90's. I love the handling of that suspension type. I still own the MX3 with the Hanebrink front fork.
@jaydmf: aint moanin. I think orange has one of the most effective suspension linkages out there! It works so well because all of the force coming from the terrain through the rear wheel and triangle, is transferred straight to the shock. This allows the shock work its magic
@scapegoat, that wasnt aimed directly at you, but the other comments about oranges looking rubbish. it is a tiny shock tho, only a 190 which i think is the shortest e2e that CCBA comes in.
I cant believe the naivety. All designs are far from universally viable. Just because a bike looks like robocops girlfriend covered in expensive wrapping paper it doesnt make it a good ride
'Pervert-y' French Style: 1. filming from behind bushes, rocks, flowers, fences, wheels, etc, etc. 2. no straight up shots of the entire subject. 3. close-ups and slow-mo sequences that have you wondering "Why am I staring at the back of her knees for 7 seconds?"
Good to see a bit of behind the scenes from Hannah. Met her a couple of times, lovely lass, who I'm sure will appreciate all your 'lovely' comments. Her tech riding ability is way above most guys on here, vid maybe doesn't show that so much, but would love to see all the haters videos see there style? I'm an orange fan, especially the 5, phenominally fun lil bike. Form follows function...
I ride downhill, and there are some lush downhill bikes, I don't deny it, but there a way more lush enduro/ all mountain bikes than lush dh bikes, in my opinion. And some people still manage to ride a bulbous in your face bike.
When I saw this post on the homepage I had to glance over to my calendar for a minute. I was thoroughly confused as to why Megavalanche came immediately after Rampage.
Brain fart.
Does anybody know if she is on the 27.5 or 26, and just to answer an earlier question Orange released a statement last week or so saying they are taking a break from producing the 322 which I think is ludicrous, love orange bikes they are amazing, but that is mental if they´ve got any going cheap they can CONTACT ME. ciao
I really enjoyed this piece. Just captures the essence of riding and having fun pursuing the sport. I love adventuring and getting out to new places.
And ... shes incredibly cute and adorable too.. who wouldn't want to spend time with someone that positive and fun.
I own a 2010 neon green orange blood and love it, as far as i'm concerned its the best looking bike orange made, and it fast, now they've stopped making the 322, another mistake maybe, also I've never been keen on the swing arm look of the five but there's no denying its on of the best bikes made, ever.
good vid and a nice girl by the way
I'm actually ashamed to say i hate orange bikes, I used to really like the Alpine 160 but after looking at the same bike for years now I just don't see the point. why would you buy a new one when it look exactly the same rimes and performs the same as the older ones? ok on her bike they have put in a bend and a bracket etc etc but otherwise just the same old orange, before anyone says if not broke don't fix it that's just crap its because they have no engineering skills or imagination.
