Black Market Bikes is proud to announce the the arrival of our prototype short travel frame...the “Killswitch”. We worked closely with Pablo Tafoya in developing our "Hammer-Link" design, creating a truly low profile suspension frame. The Hammer-Link provides 4 inches of rear wheel travel while maintaining a stiff, flickable feel with short 16” chainstays and the lowest seat height of any suspension frame....period. The Killswitch has the ability to be run single speed or geared for true versatility.

**Information Update - estimated US retail $1600 for the frame and spring 2010 as the release date if all goes well**

Details and pics inside
,Hand made from 6061 T6 aluminum with function and durability in mind, the Killswitch was meant for the bike park...this is not one of the usual suspects in fresh paint. Like anything we produce, there was a need for something more...and the time has come to..."throw the switch!"

best thing to happen to mountain biking?
  • 28 5
 maybe to street mtb
  • 14 10
Wayyyy better than the pink by doberman! This one looks like it could actually survive a bigger drop than a curb lol
  • 3 2
Thats the only problem I had with that doberman, it looked sick but very flimsy. This one is pretty compact, and I would think that helps the strength.
  • 7 6
Yeah, the doberman looked like their street HT frames, but with a shock, and no extra reinforcement at the gussets, and this one actually has the tt and bt touching, which is definetly going to make it stronger, and like you said, more compact, which will make it harder to break. The seat tube also looks super beefy so I won't snap it like my brodie nemesis!
  • 3 1
any info on when it will be released for public sale, and what the MSRP will be...??
  • 17 7
you guys are stupid. this thing is aluminum, the Le Pink is chromoly. of course this thing looks stronger, it takes more material to equal the stregth of the Le Pink!
  • 5 3
OOOH yeah really. Well, I didn't realize this fact at first. We all know it is made from Al. We were comparing the killswitch to the Le Pink because they are made by two opponent company. Blk Mrkt vs Dobermann.

I bet this sucker will be 2.5k
(expensive as fack)
  • 7 7
 That cheap? Lol
  • 3 2
 that is so sick
  • 1 1
sick but were will hte price tag be?Big Grin
  • 8 0
Jeez. Steel is different than Aluminum guys... Besides for being stronger, steel has many other advantages, but enough about that. I'd rather ride a Canadian made steel frame than a Taiwanese aluminum one ANY DAY.

It's good it has the "Maxle Horizontal", because I'm pretty sure the Maxle Vertical axle isn't going to work too well!

NO shit sherlock. I don't think it would work great with the vertical drop-out!

flag ninerider1 (Sep 1, 2009 at 7:12) (Below Threshold)
I still think that they should fix the vertical drop-out!

and make the seat-tube longer so the seat doesen´t touch the tyre when the rear shox bottom
:-()

and i think that black markets bikes weight are to heavy on there product!
  • 6 3
Ok...WHAT?! Nine rider, guess what, you can move the seat tube up! So it doesn't hit lol. And 26 lbs is too heavy for you? Well have fun jumping on your carbone santa cruz carbon blur!
  • 2 3
 i want one.
  • 9 1
Ninerider.................. Ignorance can be fixed. Stupid is forever. Pick a lane!
  • 1 2
suicide im fairly sure, that ninerider was saying that the weights posted are higher than the actual weights, not that the bike was to heavy and ratt, your a fag, (just because i can bitch!)
  • 10 1
ohhh.... a new kid on the short travel block..... I am interested....
  • 7 1

hands down the best looking slopestyle bike I have seen on the market...I def look forward to riding one . Amazing job Carter and the BlkMrkt team!!
  • 1 0
they just let all the air out of the shocks to show it fully compressed im pretty sure. idk why they didnt show one with it at its normal height tho besides the distorted one...
  • 4 0
when can i buy this and how much
  • 1 4
 watevs....empire is better
  • 1 0
that bike is really neat. just damned hot! pablo tafoya is seriously killing it right now, esp. for short travel FR rigs, but his big bikes ar sick too. he is like the sleeper DW of the new school bike think nerds......
  • 1 0
sickest looking bike made in a long long time - I love it, even if its usage is only really for a very niche market of people who actually require suspension to do dirt jumps:P
  • 2 0
This bike would destroy the slope scene. looks so easy to maneuver and yet still has such a low standover and looks like enough travel to conquer almost any course.
  • 4 1
god damn that thing is sick
  • 2 0
"Killswitch" reminds me an excellent Pc game Deus Ex, hope bike is perfect as well Wink
  • 3 0

  • 2 0

  • 2 1
best frame this comapany has built so far , well atleast i think that , has alot of potential for many differnt styles and genres of riding !
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
Because more people go on pinkbike than the blk mrkt website It is a verry nice looking bike. props to blk mrkt
  • 1 0
And because it's a prototype, they are not yet selling it.
  • 1 0
it is on blk mrkt's site though............
  • 4 2
Engage the kilswitch! that bikes siccckkkkkkkkkk
  • 2 2
That bike looks sick but why is the BB so high! Put a 12.25" BB on it! Then it will really shred! If this happens, i will buy one!
  • 1 0
it looks like this bike has a bb concentric main pivot, if so the bb height effects the wheelpath. If the bb was lower than the rear axle the wheelpath would travel forward, not desireable.
  • 1 0
Relly dope... Wonder how the pivot works, is the location of the pivot on the bb?
  • 1 0
This frame looks magical. The "Hammer" link looks mint. Anyone know what this baby will cost?
