Kumbat Protective Gear-Body Armor

So after seeing me crash and burn pretty hard (several times) on Vedder Mountain, Tyler “Brule” asked me to test out full jacket armour from Kumbat Protective Gear. With out much hesitation-ok there was NO hesitation, I really needed to try some new armor out badly. So I headed out to Kamloops to ride Rosehill for the ultra long Easter weekend and get a feel for the jacket. Kumbat put a bit of forethought into this jacket. You can adjust the shoulders on the front and back to get the right fit. As well as a double wrapping, Velcro kidney belt to protect those kidneys and hold everything in nice and tight. I usually don’t like full jackets because they don’t quite fit ladies very well, but there were so many adjustments on this jacket that I was able to get the perfect fit for me.

I spent the long weekend riding Rosehill, Jamieson and Savonah, hitting some sharp rocks, shouldering a few trees and performing a few chest flops off of my handle bars – I am happy to say that I did not sustain any upper body bruising or breaks. The Kumbat armour stayed in place and did not twist on the arms nor move off of my elbows. After three days of heavy sweating and gathering lots of dirt, it still managed to dry quickly and not hold too much of an odour. The only negative I can touch upon is the jacket became rather hot in the Kamloop's sun, but that’s one of the things you have to trade for,in order to get good protection and quick drying material.

Kumbat armor is distributed in Canada by Cycles Lambert.
