In April of 2012 Adam Lavender, our good friend and teammate, suffered a life-changing mountain bike injury. Adam’s positive attitude, incredible strength, and support from his family and friends will keep him going through these difficult times; however, the financial and emotional stress of the situation is undeniable.

On August 25th, Grassroots Cycles and Crested Butte Mountain Resort would like to invite you to “Laps for Lavender,” an 8-hour endurance downhill charity event inspired by Adam’s love of endurance downhill racing. We hope you will join us at one of Colorado’s best resorts for an amazing weekend of racing, all in the name of supporting Adam and his family. Crested Butte Mountain Resort is donating the use of their mountain for this event; therefore, 100% of entry fees will go directly to the Lavender family!

In addition to the race, there will be an online auction for several awesome items that have been donated by our sponsors. Items such as a Deity Streetsweeper Frame, a DT Swiss Wheelset, an autographed Paul Basagoitia RedBull Helmet, a Transition Bikes Revolution Wheelset, a Commencal 4X Frame autographed by Gee Atherton, and more!

On top of that, we are also having a massive garage sale filled with bike/outdoor related gear. The sale will be near registration and 100% of every dollar goes directly to the Lavender family. If you're looking for something bring some cash, and if you're looking to get rid of a pile of parts or gear taking up space bring them down!

Thanks man! Honestly though, in a situation like this anyone would have done the same. Adam is one of those guys who would do ANYTHING for you, so this is the least we can do for him. Hope to see you next week!
