There are almost no limits to what a man can do, if he has determination. I recently heard a Swedish sport legend talk about what it takes to become the best in any sport, and the answer is just as simple as determination. The guy who will stand on top of the podium at the end of the day, is most likely a guy who never gives up. He eats healthy, takes his training almost more serious than his girlfriend and does everything in his power to become the best. Examples of people like that is Aaron Gwin, Stevie Smith, Gee Atherton, Greg Minnaar, the list is almost endlessly long. I think that people in general don´t really understand what it takes to be a world class athlete, most people probably just think that you need talent to become a really good in any sport, but that´s just one small ingredients in the recipe.
I am definitely not the best rider out there, not even in Sweden, but my dream is to one day become the guy that everyone looks up to. No matter how long it takes.
If it wasn´t for these guys, I would not be writing this today. My brother and my two cousin are three big supporters that I have and they make videos like this one possible. We build jumps together, ride together, do the stuff that we love, and it´s when I´m with them that my level of riding increases the most because we have so much fun.
Some of you might wonder why I even put the road bike segment in the video, because it brings it down a little and makes it less interesting to watch. Another detail that some probably questions is when my cousin, just from nowhere, appears in the video riding the red bike, that´s because we loved that clip (me and the three others) so we wanted it in the video. I know that you don´t get the right "feeling" of the film by doing that, but that´s not what we were looking for. We wanted to make a video that made us laugh and that we all liked, so that´s why the video is a little bit different. The road bike segment is something I used just to show people that I will do more then just ride my downhill bike, to get one step closer to fulfilling my dream. I also know that I look like a kid who just learned how to ride his bike, when I ride the road bike, but that´s because I bought it two weeks ago and haven´t really gotten used to yet.
I hope you enjoyed the video!
