During the last week of June, roadbikers will flood to Livigno for the 11th Schwalbe TOUR Transalp. This means, about 1,300 participants from more than 30 countries will be making their way to Lake Garda from the Bavarian start in Sonthofen. Riders will be arriving in Livigno after conquering the hardest stage of all, stage 4, which leads from Zernez (SUI) to Livigno (June, 26th). The following day, riders will saddle up again and head off for the next stage to Aprica. Of course the spectacle will be celebrated “Livigno-style” with a huge pasta-party.

Livigno is saving the very best till last: in September the world-famous mountain bike freeride contest, Fiat Nine Knights will be hosted for the first time in “Little Tibet” as Livigno is often called. After the Nine Knights winter edition, held in April this year, selected mountain bike riders from around the world will be invited to ride in the summer edition of this unique and stunning event from September 1st - 8th. The huge success of the winter edition leaves the hosts optimistic and excited about the summer mountain bike edition: “we are excited about this new bike event. We know the Nine Knights crew very well and we completely trust in their creativity. The whole village is looking forward to discovering how they will shape the castle this time. We are really proud to offer such an international event to our guests this summer“, comments Maurizio Seletti, head of Livigno’s tourism board APT.

12 of the world’s best freeriders, including big names like Andreu Lacondeguy, Martin Soderstrom and Red Bull Rampage winner Kurt Sorge as well as the event founder and host Andi Wittmann, will compete in a picturesque photo contest, before the actual slopestyle competition on September 7th. The Nine Knights finals are a jam session on the amazing castle-like course. The big air jumps and unique features will give them the chance to shine and show off their best tricks. The best photographers from the mountain bike scene will also be there to capture breath-taking images.
