Over the last few months, we’ve had a lot of interest in putting together a team for 2007, so we’ve officially sponsored our first 4 Loeka team riders. Congratulations to Tara Johnson from Novato California, Britnee Boychuk from Kelowna B.C., Kjersten Lone from Victoria B.C. and Amber Zirnhelt from Vancouver, British Columbia.

We are also sponsoring 2 teams this year. The Chicks based out of Vancouver, British Columbia and also the Intermountain Sports Medicine Women's Race Team out of Utah and Idaho.

And not to mention our honorary team member Sabrina Jonnier!

You will see our racers at events all over North America this summer. The Loeka team will be kicking off the season at Sea Otter. So watch out, here come the Loeka girls!

"I love adrenaline sports and Loeka wear! My weekend activities include mountain biking, dirt biking, Skateboarding, snowboarding, wakeboarding…having fun.

I’ve been riding and racing dirt bikes for the past ten years. I started mountain biking in 2005 at some local dirt jumps. Progression is addicting, and catching air is so much fun!"

"I’m a 21 year old girl from Kelowna BC and have been riding for 2 years. Recently I purchased a Santa Cruz VP Free and am super stoked to start downhill racing this season! In the last few weeks, two companies have come on board to support me for the 2007 season, (Cycle Path and Loeka Clothing) but I’m looking for a few more companies to help me out.

2007 will be an amazing season as I plan to participate in every race in the BC cup circuit and continue free riding with my friends. I am dedicated to progressing both as a free rider and a racer and will be training regularly at Silver Star Mountain and Whistler. I will be starting off my season at the Sea Otter Classic in California and with the help of my current (and future) sponsors will be aiming to podium at all the races I enter! In short… I want to get my name out there and meet tons of great people along the way!"

"I was born January 4th 1991, in Victoria B.C. I have lived my entire life on the west coast of Vancouver Island. I have been riding on 2 wheels since the age of 4 and have always had an adrenaline to do the extreme on a bike. My desire to play sports keeps my mind focused and active which keeps me on the go. My first event was the 2004 Advil Outdoor Show and from there it has all been an experience that I wouldn’t change. I have been very fortunate to have an extremely supportive family who has always been there for me. The summer of 2005 was the highlight of my biking career so far. I raced in my first Norba in Sandpoint, Idaho and was able to meet all the coolest female pro riders who were all very supportive of me. I love to race both cross-country and downhill, plus ride the local skate parks and the dirt jumps. I am hoping to be riding some road races as well. I ride a custom painted pink 05 Rocky Mountain RMX R3 for DH, an Oryx Hurricane 475 for XC and for my dirt jumping / street riding I ride a Rocky Mountain Flow.

My ultimate goal that I have set out for myself is to make the Canadian Olympic mountain bike team for XC (& DH) if they ever recognize it as an Olympic event. Also, I would like to make it into the top ranks of the national female riders. It would be great to be invited to participate in a Red Bull event as well.

I would like to thank my sponsors Loeka Clothing, North Park Bike Shop,Straitline Components and Tri-Flow Lubricants for this up coming awesome season , as we Loeka Girls rip it up."

Since I first discovered mountain biking at the age of 15, riding has become not only a part of my life, but a way of life. Growing up in Williams Lake, BC (aka the Puddle), I was introduced to the buttery smooth flow of interior riding by the Red Shreds crew. My original roots began in cross-country racing, but with a love for steeps, airs, and high-speed descents, my riding focus has shifted primarily to concentrating on downhill and freeriding. At the age of 24, I am excited to be entering my second season racing pro-elite downhill, this year pursuing the Canada Cup Series, Sea Otter, Crankworx and a variety of other freeride and downhill events throughout North America. I also will be traveling and riding in Scotland, the UK and assisting Endless Biking with coaching the EB Chickas women’s team at select downhill races throughout BC.

Special thank-you to Loeka for the amazing support you are offering this season and the work you are doing to promote women riding!

Additional Sponsors: Brodie Bikes, MRP, Flash 5, Maxxis and Fox Protective Gear.
