It's cool, but there are a lot of dj frames out there for A LOT less. They failed to mention that it has DMR tubing, why not just get a DMR for 1/2 the price. And I own a Pivot Firebird, so I'm not a Pivot hater.
So is this just another bike by DMR with pivots name decals on it? The frame looks almost Identical to an 898 except for a few angle tweeks apparently, It has all DMR parts and an x-fusion fork who are a brand supplied by upgrade. Still looks like a nice bike but I'm interested to see how much it costs.
What's interesting is that the DMR website makes no mention of the 898 having a tapered headtube. In fact it says: "The 898 uses an intergrated [sic] 45/45 headset..." which would lead one to believe that it was a standard 45°x45° internal Campagnolo-style headset.
Nice but if it's a rebranded dmr 898 or new 2012 drone then why buy it coz the decals ain't all that and the pivot brand ain't been on the seen that long so only time will tell
Not sure what all the fuss is about. Most DJ frames look the same to me (other than variances in paint or sticker designs). Shapes are mostly the same. It's not like there are obvious differences (say when you're comparing a Turner 5 Spot to an Ibis Mojo). But I like Pivots though. Their M4X, Phoenix, and Mach 5.7 Carbon are frames I totally wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers...uh waitaminute.
BTW, this opinion is given by a non-DJer. Uh-oh, I smell negative props.
How many negativ probs do I get if I say that I still can't understand how people can get so excited about a dirt bike like this?
what does it have? One gear? An 80mm fork which doesnt really need much adjustments? I dont get the fact that some of those bikes get get more expenaive than 1500£ ? You dont need any good shifting or super expensive brakes on that...
Dont get me wrong (sure you will) but I would like to see more pro DH/FR or enduro bikes because there is much more secial about them..
For me it goes like this: When I see a bike that looks like it would ride well (I'm picky when it comes to bikes), I get exited about it. If it's built well and looks pimp, even better . This applies to all kinds of bikes, no matter if complicated or simple. Just my 2 cents
Most mountain bikes are over priced to everyone these days.....But I dont really say they are over priced or judge because ive no idea what it takes to build a bike.
But it sure is expensive and anyway bit of a downside to this sport , but were addicted.
this is one of the sexiest dj bike out there. done right.
Still looks like a nice bike but I'm interested to see how much it costs.
