The regular version has gears and stuff, Bernard's is much better. In my opinion at least.

It's cool, but there are a lot of dj frames out there for A LOT less. They failed to mention that it has DMR tubing, why not just get a DMR for 1/2 the price. And I own a Pivot Firebird, so I'm not a Pivot hater.
  • 1 1
 DMR rules, Pivot realy!
  • 1 0
Because there isn't a DMR with ISCG tabs, tapered headtube, and 4X geometry like the Pivot Point.

So is this just another bike by DMR with pivots name decals on it? The frame looks almost Identical to an 898 except for a few angle tweeks apparently, It has all DMR parts and an x-fusion fork who are a brand supplied by upgrade.
Still looks like a nice bike but I'm interested to see how much it costs.

Different geometry, ISCG tabs, and a tapered head tube. Sounds pretty different to me.
  • 1 0
The 898 has a tapered headtube too, you're right about the iscg tabs though.
  • 2 0
What's interesting is that the DMR website makes no mention of the 898 having a tapered headtube. In fact it says: "The 898 uses an intergrated [sic] 45/45 headset..." which would lead one to believe that it was a standard 45°x45° internal Campagnolo-style headset.

Ahh you're right. The newer model comes as an option with a tapered headtube or you can still get the regular campy type.

Nice but if it's a rebranded dmr 898 or new 2012 drone then why buy it coz the decals ain't all that and the pivot brand ain't been on the seen that long so only time will tell

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Most DJ frames look the same to me (other than variances in paint or sticker designs). Shapes are mostly the same. It's not like there are obvious differences (say when you're comparing a Turner 5 Spot to an Ibis Mojo). But I like Pivots though. Their M4X, Phoenix, and Mach 5.7 Carbon are frames I totally wouldn't kick out of bed for eating crackers...uh waitaminute.

BTW, this opinion is given by a non-DJer. Uh-oh, I smell negative props.

since its easy to turn a 20" into a scooter these days, the next step is to turn 26ers into scooters too?
  • 15 16
How many negativ probs do I get if I say that I still can't understand how people can get so excited about a dirt bike like this?

what does it have? One gear? An 80mm fork which doesnt really need much adjustments?
I dont get the fact that some of those bikes get get more expenaive than 1500£ ? You dont need any good shifting or super expensive brakes on that...

Dont get me wrong (sure you will) but I would like to see more pro DH/FR or enduro bikes because there is much more secial about them..

cause its a clean looking bike, simple as that..
  • 3 0
@Jon If you rode DJ, you'd understand. And what dougies said Smile
  • 1 0
I sometimes do ride DJ, that thing there was just a little idea in my head, so dont take it to seriously Wink
  • 1 0
Fair enough, I can see your point Smile

For me it goes like this: When I see a bike that looks like it would ride well (I'm picky when it comes to bikes), I get exited about it. If it's built well and looks pimp, even better Big Grin . This applies to all kinds of bikes, no matter if complicated or simple. Just my 2 cents
  • 2 0
that's a really slack head tube.
  • 1 0
have yet to see anyone riding it!!
  • 1 2
Well Bernard kerr said he only has had his 2 days now ,and he rides for pivot , so id give it time before you see them regurlarly.
  • 1 0
Any clue to what tires he's running?
  • 1 0
Looks just barely like the tread blocks of a DMR Supermoto tan wall, although the picture is very fuzzy.
  • 1 0
fell in love the second i saw it
