Miranda Miller - Squamish 2014: Fresh off winning the first NorthWest Cup of 2014 and the Squamish Enduro, Miranda Miller returned home to the beautiful forests and mountains of her native Squamish, British Columbia to shred some of her home trails. Watch Miranda fly through roots, big boulders, and the best dirt in the world. Man oh MAN this lady is fast. Chase Hawk - Austin, Texas: Hawk's style and Joe Simon's filmmaking make for one of our favourite videos of the year.

Tyler Fernengel - Markit 2014: This is a contender for best BMX riding you'll see in 2014.

Ronnie Mac - Go Ron Go! A true moto pioneer.

LET US ROAM - Atiba Jefferson: Atiba Jefferson is a professional photographer from Colorado Springs, CO. He discovered photography in high school and quickly developed a passion for the camera. Since skateboarding was his first love it naturally became his primary subject and the focus through the lens. His desire to capture the movement of skateboarding, precisely how he saw it, pushed him to move to California and chase his dream of becoming a professional photographer. Atiba now shoots everything from skateboarding to Lakers games to portraits of world-famous musicians and athletes. This short film gives a glimpse into the crazy life of Atiba and how he became a professional photographer.

Just a thought - wouldn't it be more fitting to have these movies on Friday to get you pumped for the weekend, and the fails on Monday to have you stoked you survived the weekend?
I mean, it would be better for my peace of mind NOT to watch several dudes crash horribly on Friday afternoon. And these Monday movies make me even more miserable when I have a whole 5 days before my next ride.
So, suggestion, let's make a section called "Monday Massacre" and "Feel good Friday!". Cheers.

movies for you monday get me through the week to be pumped for the weekend of riding
  • + 0
Agreed! How 'bout... Mishap Mondays and Free Your Mind Fridays! Wink
  • + 47
Movies for your Mondays makes my grades plummet.
  • + 2
What about those of us who ride during the week? I know I need the extra stoke after a long day of work, but am always glad to get out there when I do... I don't necessarily need motivation to ride on the weekend. All I have to do is look at my bike..

MFYM is great, I hate mondays and it cheers me up. I suggest F*ck up Fridays, with crash compilations. For a laugh, and to remind us to have fun but take it easy Wink

 It's all about alliteration!

 because it rhymes... duh
  • + 5
It doesn't rhyme... It's alliterated. Tommy trapped two toads today, is alliteration. Snug as a bug in a rug is rhyming.

I agree with Hertz. Having MFYM to get me through the week is great, and still succeeds in getting me pumped for weekend riding. Additionally, the Fails on Friday help keep me humble, preventing the cockiness that often leads to crashes.
  • + 3
If we switched MFYM and FFYF, people would get cocky and wreck themselves over the weekend, making FFYF much better... MFYM might shrink though, since everybody'd have broken collarbones.
  • + 1
How about FFYF (films for your Friday) if you want/need it on Friday?
  • + 2
 terrible tuesdays..

I have seen several of the videos but admit that I don't really "get" his style. He is ultra talented for sure…
  • + 6
If you don't understand what Ronnie Mac is, he is a pro in disguise just making fun of the bro/goon squad of riders that think they are in the metal mulisha
  • + 0
 Dafuq did I just watch?!?!
  • + 13
Dear Mr. Chase Hawk, you ride very well, so much better than me i give you that, but only one thing is on my mind:
No Helmet = Not Cool !
You have a bunch of kido's watching your video and trying to be like you, and if you want it or not you are an example for them.
Something to think about...
  • + 6
they should be inspiring to be the film maker for that video instead - brilliant!
  • + 9
... always gotta be that one internet nanny... enjoy the riding, spread the good word about helmet safety but for the love of humanity, please stop trying to lecture the professionals like they're your kids. They know what they're doing and they've heard of helmets. If they're not wearing one its because they've already decided not to wear one for their own personal reasons. Get over it and mind your own business.

(I'm a helmet advocate, not an advocate of "shaming" those who choose not to wear one)
  • + 0
I'm with you Scott (not literally of course- I don't do long distance relationships) - Personally I would prefer people to wear a lid but it doesn't really bother me anymore. Chase Hawk has been in the BMX game for a while and knows the risks more than anyone- he's decided not to wear one so that's the end of it. I take my hat off to him ;-)
  • + 1
I'm with Fliberico, no helmet+ not breaks = TBI or death.
  • + 5
Yes i agree, you should always take regular breaks. I also agree he should ideally be wearing a lid- but that's my opinion and my opinion doesn't mean anything. It's Chase Hawk's head and therefore his decision. I'm going to wear a lid when I watch videos of him riding and hope that helps.

anything to help keep Austin weird. again. the market helmet-less sections edit was amazing. @ 7:00 min!

 9th street!

Style (stīl): design or make in a particular form. see also, Chase Hawk! Seriously, I would love to a see mandatory helmet clause written into all BMX sponsorships. Like it or not you are a roll model and you could influence someone that a helmet isn't necessary which could lead to a severe injury. That being sad there are many top riders that always wear a helmet(Tyler).

And @ scott-townes ...ever been around a young kid that can't walk or talk, because he thought he was good enough not to need a helmet? Well, it can be a pretty humbling experience. Also, I didn't notice anyone feeling shamed as he spread knowledge and another point of view to consider.

Many top bmx pros are simply acrobats, they have skills that many other riders will never obtain, no matter how much time and effort is given. Yes, Chase is well aware of the risk and the limits of his abilities, however the general public cannot expect to shred and bail like an elite athlete (which is rare).

I don't intend to sound like a "nanny", but I remember being on the other side of this argument when I was young, ignorant, and generally stupid (still struggling with that one...). The pros are setting an example and I don't care if any adult chooses not to wear a helmet. I could care less about Chase Hawk wearing a helmet if he wasn't producing internet hits and getting paid for it. How many people do you know that are required to take safety precautions at work????
  • - 1
People have no control over who become role models or what those supposed role models choose to do in their own private lives. However, parents do have (some) control and influence over their own children. If you get a "role model" to wear a helmet, good job... but there's still 13,234,382,203 other high profile people not wearing helmets, smoking cigarettes, screwing without a condom, etc.. Too many people demand change, criticize "role models", and write letters instead of focusing on the kids that they do have control over.
