Golden Cycling Club's 8th Annual Mt. 7 PSYCHOSIS

Get ready for the weekend of July 14th-16th 2006 when the Golden Cycling Club and the Town of Golden, British-Columbia come alive to host the most demented downhill mountain bike race on the planet. Back for its 8th season, many consider this to be North America’s and even the world's, premier downhill mountain bike race. This year's 8th annual MT.7 Psychosis will continue to reign the world of endurance downhill racing with the longest all single track DH course and a dash of Red Bull colors.Psychosis is not about the green grass and the manicured gardens, but about the athletes and their rides. With nearly 4000 vertical feet of single track, a 13min 30sec course record, an alpine start with 150m of 40deg locked up shale surf and an optional 43ft air over the crowd, this course can humble even the worlds most dialed freeriders and downhill athletes. If that isn’t enough, there is also a Hardtail division that always turns heads, a total of over $10 000 in cash prizes, and an endless amount of prizing at the finish line.

With lots to do, this experience can be appreciated by everyone in some way. There is a midway start on Saturday for a more acceptable dose of amateur adrenalin or the Launch Pad start on Sunday for a white knuckle rush that won’t be forgotten any time soon. As a spectator, one can take in the breathtaking views from the hang-glider platform at the start zone, catch some of the world’s best riders hammering down the most impressive sections of the course and enjoy the ease of moving around with the shuttle service.

Or, the option of just relaxing with good food, a drink at the beer gardens and enjoying the tunes on site is an event in itself. So join us in the humble little town of Golden, British-Columbia, Canada on July 14-16 2006 in order to challenge the longest, toughest, steepest single track downhill course out there.

Log on to www.psychosis.ca for more information and registration. There are only 100 starts for Saturday’s amateur race and150 starts for Sunday’s main event.
