For 2013 the Open Shimano will extend its barriers beyond Argentina. After 6 years of success in what became the most important national Downhill Championship in South America, Shimano Latin America and the organization of the Open Shimano Argentina will be presenting the Open Shimano Latin America.

Three rounds in Brazil, Argentina and Chile will mark the debut of this new championship that will be looking forward to become the best option in downhill races in South America.
This is the first time that a championship like this is presented in South America and with the participation of Shimano Latin America and Ride SRL we hope to make a big difference in downhill history in this continent.

Open Shimano was born in 2008 and is the most important downhill national championships in South America. 29 races in 15 different courses around the country since 2008. More than 2700 riders until this moment. Riders from 8 different countries. Over 20 Pan-American medalists. Professional teams in every round. Sponsored by Shimano Latin America and supported by Argentinian Tourism.


ROUND #1 BRAZIL:
September 14-15, Complejo Unipraias, Balneario Camboriu, SC.

Ready for some Caipirinhas and hot weather?


Camboriu is one of the most beautiful cities close to the Atlantic Ocean in the south of Brazil. Every year people from all over the world goes there to spend their holidays enjoying the white sand and blue waters of the ocean. The downhill course starts at the top of the mountain close to Laranjeiras and finish just a few meter from the Laranjeiras Beach. The gondola gives the riders the chance to do many runs on one day. This course was use in the 2005, 2006 Downhill World Cup, 2006 Panamerican Championship and on 2010-2012 Master World Champion.


ROUND #2 ARGENTINA:
October 26-27, Hotel Eden, La Falda, Córdoba.

The city of La Falda is located 78km from city of Cordoba. It´s placed at the bottom of two mountains (¨El Cuadrado y La Banderita¨) and it has a world famous antique Hotel, call The Eden. This Hotel was built at the beginning of the XX century and in all this years has been visited by many famous people around the world. At world war two, many people said that it was a german Nazi place in Argentina. The downhill course starts at the top of the Cuadrado mountain and finish in the gardens of the Hotel Eden, that is known in Argentina for being one of the best in all the country.


ROUND #3 CHILE
December 14-15, Nevados de Chillan Bike Park, Región del Biobío.

Nevados de Chillan is a famous ski center in Chile, 500 km south of Santiago. It´s located in the west face of the Cordillera de los Andes, rich in thermal waters, and since a few years ago it become one of the best bike Parks in South America. Many of the most important races and championships in Chile have taken place in this Bike Park.
