It's been an average ski season this year in Whistler. Unlike the past two years which had near-record snowfalls this means that lower valley trails are starting to melt out from snow and are rideable.
Being lower in elevation and having a south exposure Pemberton trails dry out a tad quicker. Whistler trails aren't that far behind. To get your trail updates check out the Whistler Bike Co.'s blog which updates both
Whistler and
Pemberton. Don't forget to renew your memberships in the
PVTA (Pemberton) and
WORCA (Whistler) to top up on trail karma

Of course this is also the time when a biker's thoughts turn to the Whister Bike Park, which is opening on May the 17th. Bike park passes
went on sale on April the 16th. You can get a Seasons Pass (of course), Triple Play passes, day passes or the Sampler ticket (three scans). Prices will be listed on the website.
Good news is that tickets are exempt from the British Columbia Provincial Sales Tax (PST) so you will be paying 7% less tax on tickets this year than you did last year
Don't panic. This was from 2011 - a record snow year.
