Is it just me, or does this contest need to be divided into categories? Such as:

- DH
- Freeride/Trail
- DJ/Slopestyle
- Urban/Trials

Obviously, guys into DJ are more likely to vote for DJ/slopestyle videos than for DH, and vice versa. The results of voting will become statistically skewed by by peoples preferences of one type of riding to another.

Better way to vote is by category. Everyone gets to vote for one video in each category. Then you can have a "best of" in each category, as well as pick an "Overall" based either on highest total votes.

argh...I'm putting way too much thought into this Facepalm

Not shure about that. There's not a lot of trials riders on this site and i think that Macaskill might get pretty far...
  • 4 0
True, but I'm pretty sure just about everyone that rides a bike has a respect for trials, and in particular, Danny Mac. Dude's flat out amazing.
  • 1 0
Good videos are entertained no matter which type of riding

Danny Macaskill is incredible, how the hell can somebody make the amazing things he can do on a bike look so easy, GENIUS.

"Builders v. Loggers" has a story behind it, sick riding, and great editing. all-in-one video.
  • 3 0
I think It's the only video with a story and well placed dialog.
  • 4 0
Why only 4 days to make our mind? There was a week for the decision in each "Photo of the year" 's stage, whereas it takes much more time to see a video than a photo...

Strength in Numbers premieres in California next month, the winner of this will be there. Gotta run the brackets closer to make it happen.

People can say whatever they want about trials riding but i would like to see Akrigg against Macaskill in finals. All the people talking shit about trials riders not being real riders would have their mouths shut for good...Trials riding=best training for technical riding.

Dannys video is epic, but it was made for a TV program and although they were slack using the time, they had months to make it.

well worth a watch (you have to sign in)

Mike Hopkins- "Walking through a field with your hand in wheat." Hilarious!
  • 2 0
i agree the vids should be set in to categories like stever suggested because you cant compare a sick dj vid to a sick fr/dh/trail vid.
  • 4 0
that video was "off the Radar" hehehe
  • 2 0
jamie ledson all the way, kids got mad skillllllllllllz

 Hi

Does anybody knows what kind of helmet the guy wear in the "Chris Akrigg - A Hill in Spain" video?
  • 1 3
Did I miss something? Why do 90% of the songs used in the videos standout as being(for lack of better description) feminine synthesized techno electronica? For a sport that is pretty bad ass I am wondering if that style of music is even considered art. The videographers that shot these great pieces took more time making their art than most of the "artist" that created the songs. I know music taste are completely subjective but I am not sure why almost every video used that same style. Any way I guess I can always turn the volume off and enjoy the riding.
  • 3 0
Yep. Music is subjective. Arguing about music is pretty pointless for that exact reason. But, if I was to give my opinion, sometimes a low-key song is better, because you can focus on the riding, and not the overbearing beats.
  • 2 0
picking the right track of music creates the mood the editor is trying to set. Very important in making a film. Riding, location, and weather/season all play a part of what music to use.

Chris Akrigg not making it to the second round brought tears in my eyes Blank Stare

 why all the canadians...
  • 2 0
Where's arguably the best biking in the world? B.C. and thats why all the canadiens.
  • 1 0
There is something about trails with good dirt, and green forests that make good biking videos.
