Pinkbike.com, the world’s online MTB news and media source, announced today the back-to-back signing of two mammoth 3-year sponsorship agreements – Kokanee Crankworx and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Pinkbike will provide unprecedented coverage from the Whistler Bike Park throughout the year, and when the world tunes in for Kokanee Crankworx, they’ll do it via Pinkbike.
Both the event and the venue represent pinnacles in our sport.” says Pinkbike publisher Julian Coffey. “You want to shred thousands of vertical feet daily? Get your ass up to the Whistler Bike Park. You want to see the Super Bowl of mtb? That would be Kokanee Crankworx.”
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park features more than 200km of lift-serviced trails, dropping riders more than 4,800 vertical feet - the park also features three skills centers for all riding levels.
“The reach and influence of Pinkbike is astonishing. As our online media partner for the next three years, PB ensures we’re involved with the largest and most engaged audience of mountain bikers,” says Rob McSkimming, Whistler Bike Park VP Business Development. “The Pinkbike community embodies the core of our sport in so many ways. Our visitors, guides and coaches are a big part of that core - they ride more vertical than anyone on the planet.”
July 15-24 marks the eighth incarnation of Kokanee Crankworx, the world’s largest and most celebrated freeride mountain bike event. Pinkbike’s coverage will be a veritable online backstage pass to all the action in Whistler over the next 10 days. On July 23rd, the evolution of slopestyle and the Kokanee Crankworx crown jewel, the Red Bull Joyride, makes its debut. PB editors, filmers and photogs will be on the ground and in the heli, capturing every moment for the world’s largest mtb community.
“This is our third year working with Pinkbike. Kokanee Crankworx has grown so much, and I attribute much of that growth over the past couple of years to our association with Pinkbike.” said Darren Kinnaird, Crankworx GM.
Daily Kokanee Crankworx content will include video coverage with Pinkbike host and mtb hall of famer Brett Tippie. Guest hosts include Aaron Chase, Tyler McCaul, Ryan Berrecloth, Ashleigh McIvor and local racer/ripper Sarah Leishman. Event results and the latest news will be updated on Pinkbike as it happens, and the Official Kokanee Crankworx Mobile App will feature a Pinkbike.com newsfeed. Coverage starts today.
