Results: Mens DH Qualifying

Sep 13, 2013
by Matt Wragg
Gee Atherton edges out Mick Hannah to top the tables in qualifying this afternoon. It's tight though, Hannah was fastest at the first split and is only a tenth behind. Loic Bruni put in a blinding final sector to recover around three seconds on the leaders after the second split, can the young Frenchman take his first win this weekend? Greg Minnaar shouldn't be discounted, he had a poor first sector, dropping 3.4 seconds by the first split, but recovering a full second on the leaders in the final sector. Steve Smith is biting at his heels too in fifth... With just five seconds covering the top ten, this is shaping up to be an amazing race on Sunday!

Thanks for the correction. Seems like he is picking up momentum this year and is ready for a win, but the competition is so tight. Will be tough to beat Smith on this track, but I'm thinking there will be some surprises on the podium.

Nope race is on Sunday. When DH and XC share a venue qualifying happens on Friday, and then the XC racing happens on Saturday, with the downhill on Sunday. When the downhill is a stand-alone event qualifying happens on the Saturday,

 Geeee!
  • 1 0
 Where's Gwinn? LOL!
  • 3 1
where is he? he should be taking his specialized contract and rip it up, then give back this years money from specialized, then take his redbull , tld, smith and shoe money and GO BUY A COUPLE TREKS and get back to winning.

he should have started team gwin last winter anyway, team gwin......supported by tld, redbull, smith and whoever else.........riding whatever frame he wanted.

i really thought he was smart enough to try pulling it off last year, but he wasn't.

 Matti Lehikoinen ???
