im starting to think that maybe there shouldnt be a junior womens class just yet. at least until there are at least like fifteen riding that could compete. just my opinion though.
Well done for tahnee. she had her pants pulled down last year, but she has really improved this year and is looking fast and stylish, as her run at MSA showed. loved how she hit that last jump!!
I think we have a future World Champ in the making!!
Congrats to her for the win this year, but last year she didn't take losing too well. She assumed she would win it and then had her ass handed to her by Holly Feniak, made her look like a bad sportswoman to me.
Though I'm glad she achieved her dream of becoming World Champ.
Not referring to you personally jay224, but I like how when there's a race, British users always comment on how well the Brits are doing or wishing the British riders well, but when an American puts a similar comment everyone slags them off
@dingus because americans generally push it too far where brits are a bit more chill about it, that and everyone is sick of americans being over-patriotic, don't get me wrong I don't have issues with americans it's just some of the comments they leave on here are sad and ridiculous
I have no issues with anyone but patriotism sucks I agree when it's overdone. But, dear Canadian friend, we sometimes read stuffs in these very pages about a good guy called Smith from some other potentially good guys sporting a nice flag with a maple leaf beside their pseudo that might be put in the same category as what you're actually criticizing. All in all, go Smith, but may the best win. And hopefully on a real DH bike like in Canberra otherwise this title might not be considered a real DH title Although nobody will comment on that anymore come Hafjell.
Yeah, I'm american, but unlike your statement, I would like to see Gwin win, but would love to see someone like Peaty win. Gwin reminds of some guy I raced bmx with, whom I didn't like. Sad and ridiculous, I know. You know us americans. Oh and for your "patrotism" comment, if this was a World Cup of Nations, I would then stand upon my soapbox and shout "USA". Me being american, I'm 1/4 Finnish, 1/8 Swedish, 1/8 Norwegian, 1/8 English, 1/8 Irish, 1/8 scottish and 1/8 Gremany. I'd rather cheer for a Finn...SISU!! You sure do know americans, eh?
and of course always one gets offended and goes on the offensive, that's classic. but point taken @enduro some of the steve smith stuff gets pretty bad, although idk about a real dh bike seeing as he isn't riding one at the moment
Now you're stereotyping americans. cool. I work with people from all over the world, they have this view of us like we're are all dicks and it's all about us, I'm not. I'm not at all what your first comment was about. If you came to my trails and said "I'm from canada". I'd say, "Canada? Cool. Do you need to find all the trailheads?". Need a part, I'd give you a spare. Hell, I'd lace up a pair of wheels for you for free if you needed a spare wheel. Cuz that's the type of american I am. If you need to keep that opinion of us, then this guy is a better person than you any day of the week. That's all I got to say about that..
I have to chuckle about this discussion on patriotism that has evolved here.... when there were NO american, canadian, scottish, or swiss riders competing in the race at hand. Its good to have some pride in your country, as long as it does not make you a close-minded bigot. After all, shouldn't we get excited about seeing amazing individuals riding bikes as opposed to compairing whos country is better. Just remember that when you get fanatical about cheering for another person, HE OR SHE is the one doing something amazing, not you or your country. A love of biking should bring people together not push them apart
Denied!
All in all, go Smith, but may the best win. And hopefully on a real DH bike like in Canberra otherwise this title might not be considered a real DH title Although nobody will comment on that anymore come Hafjell.
