Everyone should have a photo like this. The problem is, to get shot by a pro photographer, you generally have to be a pro rider. For those of us who aren¹t, RockShox has you covered. It¹s called the RockShox Money Shot. A free magazine-quality shot of you taken by world-class photographer Sterling Lorence, August 15th 17th at Whistler Bike Park.

To get your Money Shot, head to the RockShox booth in Whistler Village (located on the Stroll near Umberto¹s and the Mountain Square). They¹ll tell you what trail Sterl¹s shooting on. Depending on weather, he¹ll be at: Dirt Merchant, A-Line, Ninja Cougar, Heart of Darkness, Goat¹s Gully, or Crabapple Hits. So put your man pants on, pick your line, and get your Money Shot.

Here¹s how to get a good photo:
- Space yourself out from other riders
- Do multiple runs on the marked trail.
- Don¹t stop to talk to Sterl, he¹s a working man.
- You may see a flash, so don¹t be alarmed.

Money Shots will be available in the evenings after you ride. To claim, visit the RockShox page on Facebook.

So our non riding friends can take us more serious!

exactly! the quest to look cool on facebook! the thing about mountain biking is that it's hard to show people. we're usually out in the middle of nowhere doing our thing, so its not something you can do on a stage.

Then you get those idiots that say "all you're doing is riding a bike..."

 @larryssman7

Most people do not understand why I spend over 1000 bucks on a bike. I agree, it is really is hard to show people what mountain biking is. It seems like if the non biker sees street riding though, they understand why we pay so much for our bikes. That's why I think Danny Macaskill's videos are popular even to non bikers, everyone has been to a city and they can relate to what he is riding on.

Just one more reason why Whistler is the greatest place on the planet to ride.

@Anay3186 my girlfriend thinks its not exercise at all... hahaha

@deakmaster I feel your pain bro, everybody just says "all your doing is riding down a hill" even worse they think your sitting down the whole time...
  • 4 0
insert that picture thats like: "if you sit down while riding dh bikes, you must also sit down while you pee". i also hate when people think they could do it too. or if youre hanging out with your bike and theyre like: hey can you do backflips? or, hey, do a trick, and when you do something that a fellow mtn biker would appreciate, they just smirk, because theyre comparing you to moto freestyle air+tricks
  • 3 0
hey!...I sit down to pee. @Iarryssman7.... Wink its a good thing that saying doesn't go both ways, because i don't sit on my bike.

^ so true ! The bike park photos at whistler are awesome but expensive ! You can count on me being there for the 15th and the 16th! So amped

It'll take more than a pro photographer to make my riding look good !
  • 4 0
@fedz i know that feel bro.

+1 on that count bro, all those people hating and saying they could do it I got five words for you: do schleyer and crabapple hits.

When those idiots say "all your doing is riding a bike" I take em with me to show them what its all about. However 9/10 times they hurt themselves, and never talk bad about biking again. Also Sterl should come to Highland, that's where all the good shots are at.

This is so sweet because you could get the image blown up at a studio and have it as a poster in your bike room!

 Or your office!!!

Awesome idea!! Shame nothing like this in the uk...

You sure? What's going on here almost every ski resort has been doing for years. They cost a ton, they're on nothing special and the guys aren't that good, maybe unless you hire a private guy to follow you around its different but this, this is really cool. Sterling is the man to donate his time and effort because this is going to take up a lot of both for him. I bet we will be seeing a lot of sick photos popping up on pinkbike in the next few days Wink

I doubt he's doing this for free, Rock Shox must be giving him some coin, the man's got bills to pay Wink

It is a pretty sweet deal for the riders though!

they already have the coast mountain photography people at whistler albeit they're not as good as sterling, to be fair they gotta take like a thousand shots in a row so it's not like they're shitty either
  • 1 0
Well I don't doubt it because its not like I've experienced enough to know that, I've only seen ones that are lame groomer shots for the visitors. I said it could be different if you had one of their private guys follow you around to where you go as well. Don't think that I'm hating on every single photographer that works in that position.

Hey all you shredders! Completely stoked to be able to post up in the Whistler Bike Park, in some of my favorite shooting spots and simply be there to try and nail a shot of YOU, the real riders of the park! What a cool idea offered to me by our friends at RockShox. Bring your 'A-game', nugs don't come easy!

you just know some kid is gonna is gonna put himself in the hospital trying to get a rad pic , and then he'll lie about it for the rest of his life, like "yeah man i did that same trick 4 times before he finally took this pic, and this one wasn't even my best run" etc.
