Join Ryan Leech for his Reach amp Ride Camp at Silver Star Bike Park July 14.

This optimized blend of biking and yoga will be offered on July 14th at Silver Star Bike Park which is located just 22km’s north east of Vernon, BC; it is a world class destination bike park featuring 18 distinct biking trails that range from beginner runs up to expert trails.

Leech combined his prowess as a mountain bike instructor and guide with his cycling specific yoga approach to share his personal experience of how these two activities can so beautifully unite. This workshop goes beyond the typical ‘how-to’ and explores the powerful development of mental state experiences to optimize your performance and enjoyment.

I also used yoga as a nookie lookie past time until i read that it was a great compliment to strength training... i now have my own pad and go religiously 3x per week on active rest days and also do some post ride recovery poses... it works, it really does.

I appreciate that yoga works for some people but I am not one of them. I've tried it numerous times, numerous variations and it just doesn't do it for me. There are much better and more practical core exercises that I see results from. When I do go to yoga it's because I'm bored and want to see some t & a.

It's a lot more than just building core strength. Yoga helps you become more flexible and injury resistant. It will also help work out any imbalances you might have between sides. There's also the mental aspect of remaining calm, relaxed and focused when trying to hold a tough pose. Yoga's the restorative glue I use between rides, runs and strength workouts.

If you want to be a better rider, and ride in to your older years, core strength and flexibility are key. Yoga and variations of it are awesome for this.
