Someone finds the bike, picks it up... "Nah this one feels more like a bit over 31 pounds. Keep looking"
In all seriousness though, a dagger, a dagger through my heart whenever a bike gets stolen.
I live in Belgium, and there are a lot of riders here, but unfortunately with that also many thefts.
Not 2 weeks ago, some dude on a 2007 or '08 Specialized Epic built with cheap ass parts (not Sram X-5 cheap, more like shimano SIS cheap and a RST fork) followed me and my step brother on the way back home... Just to see where we live I guess? And come over when we're not home? Damn douche... We jumped a few stairs, took some tight trail in the woods and ended up at the back of the house. This was cool to do, but I don't want to HAVE to do it every time I ride into this guy. Next time I see him, I'm gonna have a little chatter time with him.
PS: I am not sorry for using caps! This pisses me off! I spent more than 7 months of wages on my ride. If some a*shole takes it, that's half a year of my life gone in addition to what I love most!!!
And yes GPS would be sweet. One you can just put into your saddle.
I was more thinking about a foldable thing (like some phones already are) that you put around your bottom bracket. In the saddle is not really reliable since that is one of the first removed things if they take the bike apart.
but good luck on getting it back, should be found, just might be in bad condition from what the thieves have been doing round here...
cheers

(Love you Kyle)
Seriously, though, I'm super bummed out for ya Jarrett, but I'm sure we'll find it buddy, no worries.
More on serious note- bike theft is a problem we need to address- I honestly do not know the solution- I can see how easy target bikes are- no security measures, sloppy locks, lack of careful locking and storage... And build in excess of £1000 are common these days... Shame but this is reality- be safe and lock it- that is the only way I can think of so far...
Shame about your rig Jarret and good luck with finding it mate!

Could be worse though; files.meetup.com/633291/Sean%20Butlers%20Stolen%20bikes.pdf
5 bikes nicked from your own garage! When I can eventually afford a house in Manchester I think the bikes will be living in the house with me. Bike theft is a career choice for plenty of people, sorry scrotes, not people.
