Video: Sarajevo's Bobsled Track By Bike

Sarajevo is both historic and modern, Oriental and European, smiling and sympathetic. A pride of Olympic Sarajevo and known as the steepest and fastest in the world, the bobsleigh track on Mount Trebevic is now dilapidated and abandoned, a shadow of its former glory. The Mountain Trebevic also offers a few friendly DH trails located 15 minutes from downtown of Sarajevo City. Let’s shred!

The 1300-meter concrete track was completed in 1982 and featured a total of 13 turns.

The track still stands as a favourite spot for local graffiti artists.

The Moutain Trebevic also offers a few trails to ride.

Ooh Jamnica got a bobsled team!

It seemed like he was pedaling down the track a fair amount, which is strange, but still... I wonder how hot his brakes were after that. P.S. I wish I could casually bunnyhop up a track like that lol

I rode this bob track many times and if you go from top to bottom you won't be pedalling it's 10-12% constant down all the way. Smile They stopped to record sections and he was pedalling to get up to speed.

I heard someone tried to do this on the Park City bobsled track once. Apparently there was some construction going on at the end, and it didn't end well.

Eeesh. Game over if you hit one of those concrete pillars at 70km!

I'll bet that's why they didn't show too many close up shots on the bobsled track, just gopro. Riding like this, you could always go faster but have to decide when the risk is worth it. This looks less cool on camera than pushing your bike and trail to the limits without fear. Ride like that on this track and you would be going 120 kph and probably die from some small imperfection in the concrete.

I rode a part of the track in Whistler when it was under construction for 2010 games. It was about half done so we could hit 3-4 turns max to keep a safe braking distance before disaster. Although we were so excited about our idea, it sucked at the end cause, like you said, those are made for ridiculous speeds, which we were far from. It was pretty much like going downhill on a narrow road.. those picture where he is high up in the banked turn, surely it was set up to look cool, but no way he rode the whole turn like that.

Ummmm... wasn't this filmed years ago?

Maybe. Every year or so there is another (equally cool) post about someone riding down a bobsled track on their bike.
