Schladming World Cup 2006-Training

Sep 8, 2006
by Tyler Maine
Welcome to Schladming World Cup 2006. I have been looking forward to being here all season. Austria has been a country I’ve wanted to visit for many years now. Being home to some seriously hug mountains, Arnold Schwarzenegger and not to mention some fantastic wiener schnitzel, who couldn’t like being in Austria. I’ve been touring around Austria and area since Saturday, acclimatizing, getting over jet leg and enjoying a few Schladminger ale’s. It has been fun hanging out but it’s time to get riding. We started training the DH course yesterday, and oh my schnitzel this course rules. I think that it is the funest course I have ever raced on. It’s a steep 5000m course with some amazing ruhpy corners, slick mud, roots, high speed off camber grassy corners and some sizable airs. After each training run I was either laughing to myself like a crazy man or making dirt bike sounds… incredible.

With rain last night, and word that we should be getting some more will make for an interesting race come Sunday. Stay tuned for 4X highlights and more about my trip to the Schladming World Cup.

Goodentagh!
