"Every now and then you watch a video and go "Wow, I suck." This is that video."

In my case, most videos are that video.

  • 9 0
 Cool guy
  • 8 0
cranmer is a beast. really shows the incredible possibilities of the bmx platform
  • 6 1
Scotty is a big advocate of helmets and not just a helmet but you'll notice lately he's been all about having a full face helmet on. Pretty cool to see someone riding park and street that is as influential as he is setting a standard to wear a helmet and a full face too.
  • 3 4
Hes only wearing the full face cause of what happend to brett banasiewicz
  • 3 0
hes been wearing a full face for a while now before that incidient
  • 1 1
Oh well i just read on a page talking about him going to hyper and it saying hes only wearing it now cuz of that
  • 4 0
Scotty has been wearing a helmet even while riding street after a few years ago when a few street guys like Gary Young got hurt messing around. Gary fractured his skull and now wears a helmet all the time. Scotty is a rider that pushes the limits and he chose to wear a helmet and now rides in a full face pretty often while doing nutty stuff. Other people getting hurt opens your eyes to what can happen. Hopefully more people learn from other riders making mistakes like that to avoid more serious brain injuries.
  • 1 0
Yeah i know he wears one but in the article i read he said tbat since brett got injured hes going to wear the full face instead of the other helmet
  • 1 0
How stupid do you have to be to not know how dangerous this kind of shit is to begin with? I've never needed to see a moron getting hurt while riding & not wearing a helmet to know that he should've been wearing one.
  • 1 0
You're right Freeride-forever but the younger guys are impressionable by the media. When the magazines are rarely printing pictures of the "cool guys" wearing helmets, the guys these kids want to be like... they aren't going to wear a helmet because it's not what the cool guys do. It's a trickle down effect. Common sense isn't all that common, followers will follow whatever they are told is cool to be like someone they look up to. It's nice to see more guys wearing helmets however it came to be that they wear helmets now.
  • 1 0
 Well said Chad.
  • 21 1
When he was on the roof I was like "Wait he's not gonna....wow!" Crazy roof gap!
  • 6 0
nice thing the table didn´t crack
  • 4 0
i thought he was going to die
  • 15 0
i would have been impressed if he just jumped that gap but to tailwhip it, very sick
  • 11 0
Wonder if Cranmer will follow Bear Claw's lead and start ripping on a 26" also???? Need Hyper to make a team vid, Cranmer and Zink riding together, now that is something I wanna see!!!!
  • 11 0
 Did I just see a 900? Incredible.
  • 3 0
Harry Maine does 1080s he's crazy look up his 2012 Nike edit
  • 3 0
 Main*
  • 2 1
A lot of guys can 1080 now
  • 8 0
yeah, like you and me im sure
  • 1 0
A lot of people can 1080 but very few can do it out of this setup.Scotty can 1080 if it comes to a normal kicker/jump.This one was a bit different.
  • 3 0
where is the amplitude in mtb street these days? you never see an edit of people just sending it to flat or what ever the F the landing might be anymore. i miss the early cranked and Down days. mtb street has lost its identity and bmx has conquered all. im doing my best to preserve mtb street but im no where near the skill level
  • 2 2
There never "was" MTB street to be preserved, if anything it's still on its way with guys like MacDuff
  • 3 1
you need to go back and watch some old super heros videos or something. you couldnt be more wrong. mtb street came from guys that took their big wheeled rigs to the street, instead of thier bmx, in search of what was possible with 26 inch wheels and big suspension. what they found is that a proper mtb bike can be sent higher and further and land into sketchier landings than what is possible on a bmx. Also we can land on stairs. what we call mtb street today is guys that are confused as to what bike they should be riding so theyve made thier 26 as close to a bmx with out shrinking the wheels. i rarely see anything in a new street video that cant be easily bested by a bmx rider on a 20".
  • 7 0
There are no mountains in the street.
  • 2 1
 24 bikes movie. Sweet
  • 3 2
I'm well aware of those old school videos. "a proper mtb bike can be sent higher and further and land into sketchier landings than what is possible on a bmx".......please, BMX "street" has been around far before guys on mtbs started it and the things that have been done on BMX "street" turn the MTB stuff on it's head. Bigger wheels and suspension are there mainly for going faster and more stable over bumpy terrain. What do you mean "theyve made thier 26 as close to a bmx with out shrinking the wheels", you want guys to put front brakes on, derailuers, high standover frames, clipless pedals on? Those street mtbs evolved into how they look now because its what works for doing tricks nowadays, just like how bmx's don't have 40t chainrings, 10 pound frames, and huge standovers anymore.

All I'm saying is MTB street never was that big of a thing and it still isn't, it just lingers in the background.

There is a right tool for the job, you don't see BMX companies designing full suspension 20" bikes to ride downhill trails.
  • 3 2
no... they go directly to 26". Have you heard of a company called "hyper bikes"?

here's a sweet video they just put out: hyper bikes bmx edit.
  • 3 2
you clearly misunderstood me, I was talking about there is a right tool (20/26) for the job (street/downhill).
  • 6 0
I didn't misunderstand. I was simply making fun of your ignorant post. Many would argue that Slopestyle is to MTB as MTB street is to BMX.
  • 1 2
 ......you're so off topic
  • 3 0
kinda but not really. coady's saying if you're riding street f*cking use a bmx. if you're riding mountains, dirtjumps or whatever use a mountain bike.

argueing this whole thing and putting mountain bike street as it's own thing that can accomplish different street aspects then a bmx is retarded. there's not street "terrain" too rough for a BMX to hit, and no street drop that a MTB can hit that a BMX can't.

have you ever seen a mountain biker rock bigger drops/hops to flat then say sean burns? no, do you know why that is? it's not because street MTB is "dying" it's still there... theres two reasons here and that's
1. less people doing it, meaning the ratio of people with a big enough ballsack to do it is smaller. same reason there arent MTB peg slayers as crazy as garrett reynolds... because for every 100 BMXer with pegs theres probably 1 MTB with pegs..
2. with your street MTBs these days, trying to do something as big as a SOLID AS f*ck BMX can take will likely break something on your 1500$+ bicycles... weak rims, needless suspension, cheap frames (sorry.. but it's true)

unless the ratio of MTB street riders and BMX riders become equal, progression in MTB will never be anywhere close to progression in bmx.. especially with how much harder mtbs are to ride. don't try and argue, it's statistics.

i hope this helps you understand why MTB street isnt anywhere close to BMX right now. not trying to crush anyones dreams here or hurt feelings, it's just what it is, and to each theyre own. we're all on bikes having fun so ride whatever you have the most fun on... just don't complain that you can't flipwhip from one lip over the tranny over the next lip and into the next tranny.
  • 3 0
and don't get me wrong. people are pushing street MTB, and those people kill it. BMX has cyborgs but so does MTB, but as long as that ratio isn't there it's not going to progress as fast as BMX.
  • 1 0
the point to me of mtb street on "big wheeled bmx's" to me, is ur just having fun when ur not at the jumps, and u dont necessarily have the money, or care enough to switch to a bmx because at the end of the day, its just to have a good time riding your bike, doesnt matter what your wheel size is
  • 7 2
Gaslight Anthem is probably one of the most underrated bands out there, check them out Big Grin
  • 2 1
 F**k yeah, you said it.
  • 2 1
Yeah man, it's so sweet that they used a song from a New Jersey band on a Scotty Cranmer video.
  • 2 1
awesome song choice! awesome band and sick video.
  • 1 0
not mention Hyper is a NJ based company too. I love the move Cranmer made to go for a homegrown company albeit they sell the lowest of low end to the masses in department stores but thats the business side of things. Still, I see good things coming from this.
  • 1 0
Stoked to see em in a decent edit, I discovered them in an old Yetti edit, so sick!
  • 5 1
this video looks like it was made in 15 mins on i-movie... why would you rush the production on a video you know is going to have crazy footage?
  • 6 0
 keepin it real
  • 6 0
atta boy cranmer sick vid and great to see him running a full face.
  • 2 0
That was fun to watch. Scotty is such a good rider and a good guy too. Nice to see the full face on such a bad ass showing kids it's okay to be safe... as safe as you can be while wearing a helmet jumping from one roof to the next. ha.
  • 1 0
Look out Garret Reynolds Cranmar's riding street. Just jokes Reynolds owns street but, I like that gutsy hop drop grind to wall ride pallet hip drop if thats what it was. Does he have false teeth from when he didn't wear a full face?
  • 4 0
Whipflip two box double? Oh my...
  • 2 0
Unbelievable! I feel like i should put my training wheels back on! Bad Ass!
  • 1 0
I stepped away from BMX in 2003 due to an injury. Just now back into it a little and everything has changed. Except Brian Foster, Joe Rich, Chris Doyle and Van Hohman.

Not particularly good at parkour, Cranmer is a deity on a bike.
