Speed and Style finals video:
With the sun dipping behind the coastal clouds, Saturday evening was looking to be a great setting for the Sea Otter Classic Speed n Style. The best slopestyle, dirt jump, and race riders were pitted against each other in an event that tested rider's speed and style. Which will prevail? The majority of the riders were slope and dirt jumpers but they showed that their speed wasn't to be out by their tricking. Semenuk and McCaul displayed their skill and rose to the finals. Pierre Edouard Ferry placed 3rd and Brandon Semenuk edged out McCaul for 1st place.

Speed and Style explained: To win you must show speed and style! The riders drop in on mirrored courses, one is red course and one is black. The first thing they hit is a trick jump and are judged on style, the rider who does a better trick over the jump will get a .5 second advantage. Then the riders must race the pump track and then hit the jump one more time and judged again on style. If a rider takes both of the the tricks jump points he has a 1 second advantage! So maybe one rider is faster then the next, but if he cant do a better trick then other rider then he might not win.
