Sequence Saturday 12

When we ran the story about this jump I put a few sequences together for it, but at the time we weren't doing Sequence Saturday, and we hadn't come up with the code to animate sequences yet. Now that has all changed, and we can see sequences as they look, not just all pasted together in photoshop. This is the internet, not paper so why not?

bigquotesLast summer Ron Penney and Tedman Parkinson set out to break the world record for distance jumping on a bicycle, and without a tow in. Until the weather changed things were looking good. This is Tedman at about the 100 foot mark, looking pretty solid on his Carbon V10, a bike that he had ridden for the first time just the day before.

 I tried to use a standard lens, but I had to stand so far away to get the whole jump to landing in the shot that you couldn't tell it was a mountain biker hitting a jump. It looked like a grasshopper going for the biggest flying leap in grasshopper history. Thus the wide angle lens.

 well right before he jumped this he was having breakfast at his mothers house. she was well aware that he was attempting such an extraordinary thing. So in his pan cakes she sprinkled one extra little ingredients, do you know what it was? no you dont so ill tell you, it was a little bit of hope, and thats all he needed.(whispering voice) its all he needed.

 This is a fantastic example of how the sport is progressing, starting from kids piling up blocks of wood in our driveways to hopefully grab that little smidgen of air, growing up to becoming teens who see just how fast we can rip down those hills with our friends for bragging rights, or playing a game of B.I.K.E at our local jump. As the sport progresses; so do we as the rider. The only way this sport can go is up, growing and growing, and we grow with it.
This jump displays how our fantasy's as kids can become real as time goes on and we improve ourselves, and the sport of biking can only go bigger and gnarlier as time goes on.

 Is it a bird? Is it a plan? NO! It is TEDMAN on his carbon V10 and he is on a mission for biiiig whips. I would say that mission is 100% successful and hopefully he and his mate will be back to give it an other go for even bigger jumps. Props to both of them for having the balls and give a go! Ride on!!! (or in their case - fly on ;-) )

 Wow,big jump,whats that rolling around on the floor in the background.i think its a cow (maybe a photographer).these just get better every week.Now here is some information on some of the sequence saturdays.But my favorite was sequence saturday 8.as it had 28 shots in the sequence and was the best.This one had 16 whereas last week had 10 shots in the sequence.Then the week before that (on the 10th March) there were 11 shots in the sequence.The week before that on the 3rd had 20 shots.And although secuence number 2 was pretty cool with 15 shots in the sequence.Bearcolth whipping!!!!!! Number 1 was cool but not as good in my opinion. Smile
