It was an awesome weekend that included a dirt jump jam on the newly constructed course, a chainless race down upper shazam, and a pumptrack challenge held in the village!
I just got to ride Silver Star for the first time this summer, riding 3 days and I will be going there over Whistler next year, only 1 hour longer to get there from Victoria and great trails and none of the annoying lift lines and attitude
SteveH250, there is no night life there in the summer but maybe max 200 people a day if that at the hill riding so no lines and the trails are not as blown out. The trails are amazing as well very cool tech and jump trails for all levels and not just mainly table tops. I love Whistler but I would go to Silver Star more if it was closer.
@Mishtar - thanks a bunch for the info - that's good to know; have to think hard about that for next year. @kearlk - didn't realise it was that much further but not worried about the extra distance - would be sharing the driving anyway.
Silver Star has grown so much in the last few years. I think its one of my favorite places to ride besides Whistler. Now if they could just do extended play more often.
I would suggest continuing to give people that work all week more evening options. I would add Thursday night as well. Wed, Thurs, and Friday extended play. Maybe run the lift until 8pm if the light permits?
Only change I would make on the weekends is give people more family friendly options for things to do other than riding. I was up there taking my nephew for his first ever DH mountain ride. We rode for almost 3h. Rest of the family was just checking out the village and was out of things to do after an hour. Maybe a putting course, spray park or picnic area somewhere around the green chair?
Extended play Thurs, Fri, and Sat would be awesome. I also agree with getting more things to do at night. The ice cream store and bakery should at least be open Sat and Sun.
Hi everyone, I'll bring up all your comments at our year end discussions. I appreciate the feedback. More village atmosphere is already at the top of our lists to improve upon. We need more village activities for non bikers and more night life. We will defnitely be working on those two things in the off season. Thanks!

Silverstar rocks the berms and corners!
