Aug 4, 2011

SSBP is extremely bummed that the goats aren’t able to come and afford to graze at the bike park this summer as most of you are as well. As a result, Silver Star is going to take matters into our hands to make sure the weekend of August 13-14 is still a kick ass time!

August 13-14, 2011 – 2012 Norco Bikes on Display, Camp of Champions Airbag, Ryan Leech trials shows, DH race, Jump Jam and more!

If you’re looking for something to do that weekend, come enjoy the festivities that Silver Star Bike Park is putting on. August 13-14 we’ll be hosting the Two Wheel Festival – aka Turn that frown upside down weekend! There will be all kinds of bike events and we’ll be visited by all kinds of cool acts. We have arranged for some of the Goat Style builders to make a few super fun and creative dirt and host a jump jam for all those DJ riders. In addition to the Jump Jam we are going to put on a DH race on Dag’s Downhill for all you speedsters.

Norco is going to be on hand all weekend with several of their 2012 bikes on display, which you are definitely going to want to check out. Ryan Leech is also going to be at Silver Star that weekend putting on his ever impressive trials show and our friends at Camp of Champions are going to come out and setup the jump airbag and have tunes and tricks pumping all day.

We’re all bummed that Goat Style didn’t work out, but let’s have some fun anyways and have a great weekend in the bike park. Trail crew and some of the Goat Style builders are going to collude to come up with some creative trickable and fun jumps, there will be tons going on in the village and the party in the Saloon is going ahead as planned with live music and fun. So let’s celebrate all things bike and get together for some good times! We hope to see you all there!

What age can join the dh race?
  • 2 0
We are going to break the categories down according to age, however, the race course is on Dag's downhill so if you're comfortable running that course you can enter. If you are under the age of 18 though you will HAVE to have a parent available to sign a waiver. You can pick up the waiver at the mtn if you're up here this weekend.

so is the jam gonna be open to public, like the dirtjumps and is there gonna be anything competative to have to do with it?

The Camp of Champions Big Air Bag will open to the public for free from 10-4, both days. Bring your bike, your helmet and a parent or guardian to sign the waiver. We will have tunes pumping and VitaminWater flowing so it's going to be an awesome weekend. See you there. Bring your friends! Ken

Can we jump the air bag with DH bikes, or do you prefer hardtails? May have to blow off the dust and rebuild my STP.

umm just wondering is there a waiver online? cuz it might be difficult to get a guardian to sign it?

don't be suprised if they don't have an online version. They like your parent/gaurdian to sign it infront of them so they know you didn't print a form off online and forge their signature.

ya true, well it would make it a lot easier on me if they did that.
  • 1 0
Yeah, but their liability is worth more than your convenience so i wouldnt count on it.

Nope nothing online. We have to see the parent sign it. You can also jump anything you want. Pretty much everything you can think of has sent it into the bag. Tandems, cruisers, race bikes, Recumbents, you name it. Ken
