New Date Announced for Sun Peaks Big Mountain Air

Aug 20, 2007
by Tyler Maine
Sun Peaks 2nd annual Big Mountain Air has been re-scheduled for Saturday Sept 1, 2007, at 5:00pm in the Rocky Mountain Flow Zone. Riders will be hucking huge on the new set of doubles located under the chair. Riders will be competing for over $2500 in prizing including $1000 cash, and a 07’ Rocky Mountain Flow DJ Bike. “Last year competitors were throwing down huge, and this year the jumps are bigger and better, with more prizes on the line, so we are expecting an even better show than last year,” says Bike Park Manager Scotty J. To keep the pulse of the event going we’re hauling in a sound system, and amplifying the event with a bunch of music your parents are sure to hate.Following the Dirt Jump Sun Peaks has lined up their favorite local band CR Avery to perform live outside Masa’s Bar and Grill. CR Avery puts on a show like no other, with funk laden beats, freestyle poetry, and harmonica skills like no other. “This will be a great weekend for people to check out all the new features in the Sun Peaks Bike Park plus see one great dirt jumping show, and a free concert at the end of the day,” says Sun Peaks Events Coordinator Greg Govett. Both the Big Mountain Air and the performance by CR Avery are complimentary, and everyone is welcome to attend. Spectators can ride down to the Rocky Mountain Flow Zone from the top of the lift, or they can make the 5 minute walk up the hill.

Bike Park Vacation packages start at $75 per person including accommodation and lift ticket. For more information on the Big Mountain Air please visit www.sunpeaksresort.com. Riders interested in participating can contact either Scott Janzen at (250) 318-1172, or Greg Govett at (250) 319-0467.
