It is finally official: five exceptional talents have won the CONTOUR WANNA BE A KNIGHT Contest and will complete the illustrious rider line-up of the SUZUKI NINE KNIGHTS MTB presented by G-SHOCK: Simon Godziek (POL), Linus Sjoholm (SWE), Xavier Pasamonte (ESP), Anton Thelander (SWE) and Thomas Genon (BEL).

The winners of the Contour Wanna be a Knight contest complete the Nine Knights riding field.

Meanwhile, the castle is rapidly taking shape and turning into a trick-playground of gigantic proportions. Take a peek behind the scenes at how the course building is progressing:

It was not easy for host Andi Wittmann to pick the prospective knights: “It is really difficult, if I could I would invite almost all of them. But the criteria are tough: the riders must be extremely good freeriders and master some of the toughest tricks – there aren’t many of those guys around. We have definitely picked some worthy candidates, anyone can come and see for themselves on the Contest Day.“ Considering the flood of applications he received, it was near impossible for Andi to choose only five riders. So he made it a little easier for himself and invited several additional riders to the Contest Day on August 25. Among them is, for example, Pavel Alekhin (RUS) on whose bike you will not find any brakes or Mehdi Gani (FRA) who burst onto the scene last year and qualified with a wildcard for the Red Bull District Ride – both are exceptional talents.

Sweet course for massive action

In order for the nine knights to find perfect conditions at the mountain bike paradise „Wildkogel-Arena Neukirchen Bramberg“, Andi Wittmann has put a lot of planning into this year’s obstacle: “I wanted to make sure that several riders could jump a feature at the same time. That is why I have expanded last year’s entire Big Air Line to feature four parallel lines. At the starting tour as well as the main feature, four riders can be in the air at the same time now."

"Additionally, we have extended the course by two new obstacles. The new part ends with a boner log over a mountain lake – in my opinion, this year’s highlight.”
