by Alex Boyce

It's not often that anyone with a bike gets to do a 2700 metre descent racing against 2000 other racers on ice, snow, rock, grass mud etc. Well the Megavalanche in France lets you do exactly that. Most coverage focuses on the start of the main race, that's only part of the story though, if you put all the small parts of the story together you get this video. A short profile of the atmosphere, track and elements that go into one of the most extreme races in the world.

If Jerome rode a 29er he would have won all the same... Its not the bike its the rider that wins.

Wheel size is to Dan Atherton like tennis racquet brand is to Roger Federer. Its the skill of the guy not the bike or wheels he's on.
