The Spit no.7: Toronto

Aug 15, 2013
by Lama Cycles
A wild weekend in Ontario for the LamaCycles/NS Bikes crew as they visited and rode with the locals of both ZM Cycle in Toronto as well as The Bicycle Shop in Sarnia. Big street ride in Toronto, a couple stops in between and our Ontarian Lama Buddies Mike Dimartino, Evan Roth & Matt Bolton featured in the video makes this Spit episode extra original!

Yes 26" riders are not as good, nor will they ever be on the same level as bmx. Yes it is way harder to do the same trick on a 26" than a 20". So why would anyone ride a 26"?? I really just don't care how many tricks I can do, i'd rather ride a bike that feels fun and comfortable to me...but that's just me.

Couldn't agree more. I can do more tricks on a bmx, but you can't the feeling/ride like a 24/26

Pretty fking lame go watch the front vids from the 90's and guys like schencal and vonish were doing way more/ better than this

I ride many bikes, different types for different terrain and disciplines. I wouldn't ride a bmx on my 26km commute to work, I would ride a road bike. I wouldn't ride these goofy looking bmx impersonations in a skatepark either, I would of course use a bmx.

This isn't like the 27.5 / 29er debate, where suitability is mostly subjective. If the riding was stellar, I wouldn't have commented at all, but its mostly sub par. Pink Bike doesn't typically post amateur level riding, and this sort of thing should be no exception. In this case I believe that the bikes have alot to do with why the riding isn't stellar, too big, too cumbersome and it generally holds back the progression.

Wrong tool for the job, period.

If it weren't for 'negative' commentary, this site would have half the user participation it has. Differing opinions keep things interesting.

i guess what you are trying to say is that "mountain biking is serious business"

No fun allowed, everyone has to do what he wants or else they should be ashamed. All riding should be perfect and efficient and pro level or IT SHOULDN'T EXIST OR BE SEEN

Oh and front suspension has NO place in a skatepark. Or even on well built dirt jumps. Just keeps the profit margins healthy.

we used to call it.......The Wed. Nite Ride

Great Riding, but the guy with the fubar hair needs a helmet.
  • + 2
No man helmets are for idiots, and the kids wont think you're cool if you wear one. You gotta be cool man! ..... Other things that are cool: Stealing music for you're vid and not giving the artist props. But I get it, it would probably take like 4 more days of editing to throw in the artist name at the end of the vid.

Why don't they just ride bmx? No offence it was a cool edit I enjoyed it but 26" wheels are only holding them back
  • - 3
True, big wheels just make it look slow and bland.. not enough room for style. Then the lack of pegs deal.. it's all just meh.. A good MTBer rides like the average AM rider in BMX, and all the same I think those guys would do pretty decent progressively on a BMX

You guys a bit retarded? Unfortunately, a brakeless 26" is about as stupid as racing DH on a BMX, but brakeless noses on 26" bikes are even gnarlier than on a 20" & there were some pretty original moves in this edit.

Man who cares, a bike is a bike, at least we're out ridding and having fun instead of sitting on the internet telling other people how to ride..

worse than sub par amateur bmx, keep the mtb in the mountains where it thrives.

what do you know DGWW? you ride 29er lol. jk. but honestly the frames are designed as street bikes. keep your negative thoughts to yourself.
