Thieves are always out there and its not just your bikes they want!

Hey folks, I just got this little note from my buddy Jason and I thought I'd pass it along. It reminds us that thieves aren't just out to get our bikes, they want all your toys. We need to keep an eye on all our valuables and do little things to prevent thefts of any degree. Its a quick read, but hopefully it helps others out there to save their own goods from the hands of someone that is out there to benefit from your hard work.-EdTy,
I wanted to get on the forum and warn your North Vancouver readers (ok all your readers) about something that happened to me today (Saturday Feb3) After a ride on Mtn. Seymour I was pulling into the Superstore parking lot and my van was being rummaged through by a couple of guys. There were 2 caucasian guys, mid 40's that were driving a silver, domestic 2 door car. I was by myself and pulled right up to them while they were leaving. They made off with a Digital Camera that I got for Christmas. Anyways it was heartbreaking to lose the camera. I just wanted to issue another reminder to not leave anything of value in your car and to be on the lookout for suspicious looking characters. Thanks,

Jason B

*sorry about the delay in getting this out there, I was on the road too-Tyler*

my buddy had his bike stolen right in front of him so he chased the guy and when the guy went to slow down and turn a corner he went over the handlebars(friends brakes are moto style) and when my friend grabbed the bike he got punched in the head.

Just recently someone tried to break in to where me and my brother's keep our bikes. I noticed becuse that night there was a fresh snowfall, so they left footprints all over the place. They did not manage to get in, but the beat the sh*t out of a $300 door handle. thank god i put that in. They will probibly be back to try again, which is the sad part about all of these stories. From my past experience, i know that if someone really wants your bike, locks and doors will only slow them down, and it will most likely never stop them from trying again. the best thing to do is to not advertise how much your bike is worth. if someone asks, tell them you got it at walmart for 100 bucks. also, lock them up really well, and if you can, hook up an alarm system to the door that leads to them. btw, if you do the alarm system thing, put the horn right near the door so it scares the f*ck out of them if they get through.

Remember though, bikes can be replaces(eventually), but getting seriously hurt usually is not reversable. if you do catch someone in the act, try not to bet the crap out of them too badly, cus you dont know if they will be back with more than just a fist.

Fucking thieves! The worst part is even if they get caught nothing will happen to them and if it is less than a thousand dollars the police won't even investigate. I guess we'll just have to take justice into our own hands.

The best thing to do, is keep your serial number for your bike written down, and kept at home. Keep updated pix of your bike as well (upgrades and such). There isn't much the police can do when someone reports a stolen green kona stuff, because there are so many out there. Make yours special, do something that no one else does. And lock everything up!!!!!

It happens to the best of us. Its so unfortunate that folks need to pray on each other, but think of how good it'll feel when some catch others in action!
