Just finish your working week and get going to Vienna! After a long winter break, this weekend the wheels are starting to roll again! The VIENNA AIR KING is the highlight of the ARGUS BIKE FESTIVAL and at the same time the debut of the FMB World Tour 2012. Moreover, good news for all those who can’t attend the event in Vienna: The numerous calls for a live online broadcast were heard and event partner Red Bull is producing the official VIENNA AIR KING live stream.

VIENNA AIR KING course

The big weekend is almost here: The VIENNA AIR KING, part of the ARGUS BIKE FESTIVAL, Austria’s biggest bike event, will again be the kick-off event of this year’s Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour (FMB World Tour). The course building under the direction of Andi “the Brewinator” Brewi is running at full speed and the course is almost finished. For the finals on Sunday April 1st, the weather promises to be great, luring ten thousand people to Vienna’s city square once again. The VIENNA AIR KING is considered a dirt jump competition of high international standard and can’t be kept a secret from the rest of the world. Worldwide requests for a live broadcasting on the internet led to the only logical consequence: The VIENNA AIR KING will be streamed live and in full length via the Red Bull Bike channel. The final starts on Sunday, 2:30 pm will be streamed in its entirety including the prize giving ceremony on Red Bull’s bike section website: www.redbull.com/bike.

You can stream the VIENNA AIR KING via the following link: live.redbull.tv or via the official website of the FMB World Tour: www.fmbworldtour.com/en/multimedia/live-webcast.html

There is also a wildcard to be won at the VIENNA AIR KING. The best placed participant who is not already invited to the Red Bull Bergline in Winterberg through his ranking in the 52 week seeding list gets the chance to move up the line for the FMB World Tour Gold event on May 19th. An opportunity that will definitely result in an extra dose of motivation, particularly among the riders in the pre-qualifiers.

As usual, the rider’s line up of invited athletes has changed slightly in the last few days: Now the Norsemen from Sweden will be the biggest national fraction with Linus Sjöholm and John Alm Högman succeeding the set riders who had to cancel their participation.

Check out the final rider’s line up, starting on Saturday for the qualification:

Thomas Genon BEL
Jakub Vencl CZE
Tomas Zejda CZE
Bienvenido Alba ESP
Andreu Lacondeguy ESP
Antoine Bizet FRA
Yannick Granieri FRA

Then how come the europeans arnt winning over here? Canadian and american riders are on top over here. There just isnt enough high ranked fmb events for the riders from here to bother crossing the pond.
