NOTBAD
Directed by Anthill Films | Canada 2013 | 30 minutes

This is a tale of epic adventure. A tale of seven brave riders who set out from the four corners of the globe to gather together under one roof in a town located at the ends of the earth. A tale with no beginning and no end but where a few things happen in between. Things like eel fights. Yeah that’s right... f’n eel fights.

"NotBad" features members of Trek’s talented and diverse C3 Project Team: Brandon Semenuk, Brook MacDonald, Brett Rheeder, Cam McCaul, Andrew Shandro, René Wildhaber, and Ryan Howard. Channeling the vibe that early skate and snowboard films are known for, "NotBad" is all about having a good time, all while pushing the limits of biking in every discipline. It’s amazing what you can see and do in thirty days. From exploring the trails of the Remarkables, to basking in dirt-jump heaven at the Gorge Road jumps, the list of good times could go on forever. Mix in a few high-speed drive-by food fights in between all of these adventures, and well… you’ve got yourself a party!

Anthill Films is a group of award-winning, adventure storytellers who are constantly pushing visual and technical boundaries to create films that are inspired by a way of life. Based in Squamish, BC, this collaborative group of action sport storytellers is the same crew that brought you "The Collective," "Roam," "Seasons," "Follow Me," and "Strength in Numbers."

THE HAUTE ROUTE - LIFE IS A PASS
Directed by Tom Malecha | Switzerland 2013 | 16 minutes
North American Premiere

Life is a pass. To make it to the top, it takes determination, stamina and the will to suffer. Two friends set out to ride the world's most famous ski tour - on mountain bikes. This is their story. And it is about glaciers, exhaustion and the real challenges in life.

Born and bred in the flat lands of Western Germany, Tom Malecha moved to Switzerland in 2008. With a background as a creative in advertising, the passionate mountain biker and snowboarder turned his love for film making and the outdoors into a profession.

BE THE TRAIL
Directed by Morgan Edwards, Michelle Peters, Logan Tacoma | Canada 2013 | 5 minutes

Rider Logan Tacoma stars in this a-typical mountain biking film where high adrenalin riding and extreme stunts are replaced with a healthy dose of humour and surprising wardrobe choices. With "Be the Trail" Vancouver's North Shore trails come alive like they never have before...

Logan Tacoma, Michelle Peters, and Morgan Edwards began the "Be The Trail" journey as three friends who simply love mountain biking. After growing up in Ontario, a move out to Vancouver has reignited a burning passion for ripping trails and having fun.
When Logan approached Michelle and Morgan with the idea for the film, they couldn't refuse. Michelle's background in photography and Morgan's video editing experience combined with Logan's insatiable need to pound pedals and ended up producing a gem that we are all proud of.

THE ESCAPE
Directed by Dan Barham, Seb Kemp, Andy Rogers | Canada 2013 | 17 minutes

In BC, when winter descends upon us with its icy blanket, all the riding closes down...or does it? Determined to escape the grasp of winter and shake off its snowy shackles, two riders set forth from Whistler to circumnavigate the Strait of Georgia.

The route was completed by bicycle and with the riders towing all their supplies in specially designed trailers. Traveling by mountain bike - less suited for the roads but tailored to the gems of off-road trails - enabled them to link up exquisite trails networks and riding communities that exist throughout British Columbia.

A story about road tripping, community, the people whose passion supply a lifeline to mountain bikers, looking beyond the beaten path, and finding adventure in your own backyard.

Dan Barham, originally from Manchester, UK, but now living on Vancouver's North Shore, Dan works as a photographer, cinematographer and film-maker for numerous editorial and commercial clients across the globe. With a strong background in mountain biking and other outdoor sports yet able to work in all fields of photography, he captures natural, authentic images which blend artistic visuals with astute story-telling.

FLOW: THE ELEMENTS OF FREE RIDE
Directed by Oly Mingo | USA 2013 | 3 minutes

Follow Rex Flake on a high-adrenaline mountain bike ride through the Cascade Mountains as he identifies the flora, fauna, and geology of this cinematic region and explains how all these individual elements come together to create the experience of 'Flow'. Uniquely edited without the typical hard core soundtrack, Flow uses creative graphics and sound design to bring the viewer uncomfortably close to the action.

Oly Mingo: Our commercial and documentary projects require intelligent subject matter, engaging characters, and passionate storytelling. But who says they can't look good too? It’s my assignment to bring stunning visual effects, stylish design and creative editing to every project. Celebrating 8 years as an award winning artist, my passion and creativity is sourced and inspired by life in the Pacific Northwest.
