Watch the highlights from the final round of the Ride 100% 2018/19 series! The only way we could end this series is on the famous 'Ski Run' trail, it was amazing to see all categories filled with entrants along with smiles all round!
It was a cold and bleak Sunday with the sun briefly peaking through the clouds to make an appearance, this didn't put off a sell-out round at the Forest of Dean. 350 riders turned up to finish the year on a high while proving themselves before the offseason. The track was just over a minute long but packed a punch from the start to the very bottom. Roots, slick turns and jumps were littered on the legendary 'Ski Run' trail.
The top half of track was littered with roots that riders had to be fully committed to riding, the consequences were high straight from the very start. There were a lot of small gaps that saved a lot of time if riders opted for the risk as one wrong judgement could make them slip down the leaderboard. On a minute track, one slip could mean a lot of places lost.
After crossing the road the terrain would change, the loose rock had a mixture of drops and tight singletrack that could easily catch you out. It tested the riders ability to adapt but to also stay consistent when changing from slippery mud to a hard and rocky surface. Coming to the bottom of the short but action-packed track, the final section of Ski Run is about keeping consistency and scrubbing the jumps. Keeping speed is a must on the flat finish.
We hope you have a great Christmas and we will hopefully see you in 2020!
