hes not here so Ill summarize what he would say "this is bs hes a horrible rider! ive never ridden a bike but I know everything and like to type huge long essays about global warming and brits being depressed!" I think I nailed it?
"Do I flip-whip out of the dish then", holy crap I wish he didn't crash, the way there talking he would have flip-whipped the dish and 720'd the bottom...wow!!!
Yep, I don't think there's anybody (not even Tomas or Martin) that wouldn't have liked to see him put down the full run, even if that'd have probably meant him taking Joyride no doubt. I mean, if he was flipping from flat the start, what did he have for the 60 footer and the cabin?
We do, the "wish he could've done a full run" extends to Zink, Pilgrim, Delfour Barrasq, Lacondeguy... and so on. But Life Behind Bars is about Semenuk.
Second that. I remember when he first caem out on Drop In and I was wishing he would just ride and not talk. Took him some time but now I like what he has to say.
That was more depressing than anything. In a contest setting he does not seem to be enjoying himself at all and when he says "I can't wait for this day to be over" it just makes me start feeling anxiety. I much prefer to watch videos of people riding and being happy, not praying for the day to be done and being "forced" to ride their bike.
The pressure on Semenuk and other top riders is off the charts for an event like Crankworx. If he said he was having fun before/during the event, I'd assume he was lying. I started racing this year and usually feel like puking before the start. It's most fun just after its over and I've done well.
Exactly. When you're competing at a high level in any sport the lows are about as low as it gets, but it makes that feeling of absolutely stomping a run that much sweeter. The fear and the pressure are all so worth it if you get to look back after and realize you just redefined what's possible in some way.
gotta say, I don't think I've ever seen a video that captured the tension and fear of a big contest so well. good job guys. sucks for brandon, but he's been killin it in everything else this season. stoked for rampage!!
Few months ago I bought a new Troy lee d2 and didn't toss it on the ground....
First ride with it I was doing a big rock face and caught my front tire somehow and fukin SMASHED my face right into the ground....
Knocked myself right outt..
Honorable men, what I have always loved about mountain bike competition, respect for our competitors and humble about our accomplishments. Kill it at Rampage Brandon!
Brilliant episode, great to see the amount of pressure these guys are under, makes you appreciate what they do even more when they compete in these competitions.
Anyone know the song title from 2:50 ??
