Anyone wandering around at this year's Sea Otter Classic would have been hard pressed to ignore the shouts and cheers emanating from the Pinkbike booth twice a day. The cheers (and jeers) were for Pinkbike's Freeze Frame contest, where participants could win a frame or a complete bike by being the first to unfold and put on a frozen t-shirt. With either a Hard Eddy frame from Intense, a Session 88 frame from Trek, a Devinci Dexter frame, a complete KHS SIXFIFTY 2500 bicycle, and a
Contour ROAM 2 helmet camera up for grabs, the competition was fierce. Participants (who were chosen at random from photos emailed to Pinkbike) tried every means possible to thaw out and don the icy t-shirts. Brute force ending up as the preferred method for the competitors, and the tent echoed with the sounds of wet fabric being pummeled and smacked into the ground.
